BalzaSteel
Hi All :) Just trying to get a bit clearer info on how Skills work. does raising guns have any other effect besides increasing chance to hit in v.a.t.s and reducing sway? what are the benefits of raising repair? even without spending a point one is able to repair items to 100% so aside from dialog options what does it do? thanx in advance BS
gsmanners
Higher Repair makes the repairs you do more efficient in FNV. Higher Repair lets you craft different types of ammo and there's also a perk that requires 90 Repair that allows you to repair weapons by category rather than needing weapons of that specific type. With 50 Repair, you can also craft Weapon Repair Kits. There are a number of quests here and there where high repair makes the job a lot easier/faster/possible. Guns skill is less important, IMHO than Repair.
Liquidacid23
guns adds to how accurate you are in VATS and out because of the auto-aim in game (which is kinda broken at longer ranges but there are a few fixes for it on this website).. it's kinda important later in game too because some of the nicer, more powerful weapons require higher guns skill to use, like the ranger sequoia, bush gun, anti-material sniper and such.. tho I'm pretty sure I haven't seen one requir more than a guns of 75 I usually tag it and max out guns early so I might be wrong, it also unlocks some of the nicer combat perks that increase pistol, rifle and shotgun accuracy or damage Guns (or energy weapons, melee, unarmed depending on my characters main weapon type) and repair are 2 skills I usually max out early in game to make combat easier
