Bad Mamma Jamma
Does anyone know of a mod that makes training dummies and archery targets object that alow your skills to level? I mean why have these objects if they don't actually train you in any skills? Maybe not as much as actual combat but a little something. And also targets that lets you level up magic skills too. Just a thought. If any one knows of a mod like this could you let me know please. Thanks everyone.
Vagrant0
Wrong spot, belongs in modding. Anyway, it might be possible to do if you didn't mind adding a script to the 8 or 9 target types. The problem though is trying to detect what weapon the player is using so that it only raises that skill. Short of having it check for each weapon individually, I don't see any real way of doing this. Even if you limit it to a specific set of "training weapons" you would still have a moderately complicated script as you wouldn't want them to gain a skill point with every hit, or gain further skill points with the same amount of swings as previously. For all the trouble, just using summoned scamps to beat on is a better solution. It doesn't require any scripting, and isn't nearly as boring to train. Seriously, hit a target 100 times... then hit it 100 more, where's the fun?

When a fighter goes training, he normally doesn't go summoning monsters and beat them to death. There are a few mods for it. One changes the dummies into a goblin when using a special training weapon and another uses the meshes of Mannequins someone made. But if you want to train on the original dummies you want this mod. As far as I can tell from the description it uses the original dummies.

GBHis
Nope. It uses the original MESHES. The original objects are statics, and you can't attach scripts to the statics. It either uses items with "SetRigidBodyMass 100", or activators.
Bad Mamma Jamma
Thanks for the info on this mod. Sorry about the place I posted it, wasn't exactly sure. :P Povuholo thanks for the link. You seem to understand the reasoning behind the question. It's all about reality. It's a training dummy, so it should train you. I'm off to download this mod and try it out. Thanks for the help everyone. :)
GBHis
@Vagrant0Some persons (many) would get better by practicing. No matter what they're practicing on. Hitting a combat dummy with an arrow would be as hard, if not harder than, hitting it with your sword, and so on...

Not only that but when your at a low low skill level, say with a blade, it would be nice to train a bit, just enough to be efficent with a blade to go into real combat. GBHis
Oh -- just made some experiments with this. I got it to work as creatures and activators. Activators are far the best. (my "creatures" kept turning) It's a lot of work, though. You would have to get textures+nifs for 15+ different things in different scales... Didn't know it would take that much work. Thanks for looking into it, it would make for a bit more of realism, and I appreciate the help thanks guys.
