Break the Party Limit?

Heya

I've played through Dragon Age so many times now that all in all the combat bores me to tears. I know every combat zone like the back of my hand. I'd like a way to progress faster without downloading cheat weapons... and I can think of one that also gets rid of one of my pet peeves about most Bioware games (and party RPGs in general).

I'd like to be able to take as many of my allies with me as I wish. I know there is a console code to do so; but typing into an invisible console every time I leave camp, and iirc not being able to select them easily, makes it a chore.

I have mental images of defending Redcliff with everyone at by back. Steamrolling through the Deep-Roads with everyone doing their part. Pile-on the Broodmother. Taking everyone with me to fight the Archdemon; except Sten, who I would leave to fight the Darkspawn who get through. It would be glorious!

I'd also have thought someone would have done it by now; but can't find a mod that does this through the Nexus Search.

Anyone willing to give this a go, please?

No one has done it because the Infinity game engine doesn't allow for it.

Best you can do is recruit everyone, take each one into your Party long enough to adjust their Tactics indivdually to what you want them to do when you can't control them, and then use the "zz_addparty [NPC_Name]" command to add each one you don't already have with you.

As you probably already know, using that command to obtain the services of somone you haven't actually met/recruited yet can break some plot flags in the game, so "Use With Caution."

Oh, but the mod "Make Console Commands Visible" does fix one of the things you mentioned!

I see. Thanks for explaining the problems with it; guess it will always be just a dream, hehe.

I will just end up using the console codes for the Deep Roads and Battle of Denerim then, and use said-console mod.

Much appreciated. :)

You don't need to do a prolonged setup like that, just bring them all in with the console and you can adjust their tactics then; inventory works too  I wasn't aware of this until I started attention whoring with screenies and decided well, while I'm here, what can I do 8)

Last time I tried, I couldn't get access to the "super-Party" members' Tactics OR Inventory screens, but that was probably back under 1.03. (Possibly 1.02. A while ago anyway...) You're saying that's changed? Hurray!

It's either that or I have buggered something up with my experiments but AFIK I haven't done anything that would affect tactics or inventory (unless you consider the lack of romance a tactic :whistling: )
