sotanaht1
If possible, make the "passive" companion setting either make them not attack at all, or not attack any enemy that I have not personally done damage to. I find it incredibly annoying when a companion will just run off trying to kill s*** that I am not even involved with, especially if that ends up getting them killed instead. More importantly, I do NOT want to have to make my companions essential, since that is effectively cheating. Basically, make a mod that lets me completely turn off companion combat AI at will, so they just stand there next to me when I want them to. weaselball
I feel your pain. Veronica + Vault 22 and 34 = facepalm.
frank lee
I'm leaving companions out of it until this issue is fixed. I play a diplomat, a negotiator and I cannot be doing with 'my people' picking fights.
thedude420
i feel the same way too, i don't know how many times my companions ran off and got themselves killed. it pisses me off too, because i have to then reload my save from from a few hours before hand. needless to say i lose a few hours of play when it happen sometimes. i don't know whats more annoying that or some of the minor glitches in this game. if i am using one, i have them wait as far back from the fight as i can. underm1nd
Yeah when they r set to passive they should only "return fire" haha i really hate it when they start running around shooting everything they see especially when im surrounded by deathclaws... xD and i f***ing use companions only to carry my stuff and for boones and ed-es perks(perfect for sniping)
Mazdek
Hear hear! I'm using setessential mods until my companions can be trusted to behave themselves. This sorta reminds me of another behavior gripe I have, so in case any geck-knowledgeable behavior AI experts are reading... I really want to also disable companion immediate auto-healing after combat, at least in hardcore mode. Even if they are essential I still want them to be hurting and limping until they are given medical treatment. I wouldn't go so far as to requiring them to obey eating/drinking/sleeping rules though. frank lee
If they could just stay out of my line of fire it would help! I'm bushwhacked by raiders, I can take them but the floating fool (that I apparently need) keeps diving in with his underpowered weapons. What would really help would be a hotkey for 'wait here, don't do anything!'
