rogerdsl
Since I'm always at the van, I will use whatever to "soften up" the target then I'll flank and let Sticky, and Dogmeat perform a frontal attack. Their distraction allows me to concentrate on the targets arms and weapons and Fawkes comes up from the rear with the big gun.
Ranger910
I get their attention and then lure em around a corner where I either blow their head off or set a mine (bottlecap mine for the tough ones) or both. The key usually is spotting them before they spot you. Doesnt always work that way though.

And forgetting to tell Dogmeat to stay when laying the ambush WILL screw it up ;) I should have mentioned I use that tactic outdoors in the wasteland; it sure doesn't work in a metro tunnel ;D
Ranger910
Haha yeah def only works inside. If I'm in the wastes I bring a sniper rifle with me. When I get to a high point I stop and scope in and checkout the path to the next high point. The point is usually to avoid combat if I can. I find that killing random creatures in the wastes gives little xp and takes valuable ammo. So, it's more of an avoid combat tactic than a combat tactic. lol if I can't avoid I soften em up with the sniper rifle then finish em with an assault rifle. ninjafish
My tactics seem to be very baseline compared to everyone elses. Grenades into groups of 2+Rockets into groups of 4+Energy rifle for singleFlamer for multiple small weak wildlife and monsters.mini nuke for overlords. Im playing simple on this playthrough. A big guy, with big guns, and lots of ammo to waste.

Like the Albino Rad Scorpion: the ammount of ammo it takes to kill it and the reward is (4) Poison glands BFD :( I can't even sell them for the ammount of ammo I used. Yao Guai, still shot gun, Albino Rad scorpion, rocket to legs and then torch em. Death Claw Pulse Rifle and run :) and I just came across the Reaver, run, bottlecap mine and Pulse Rifle to the vomit throwing arm (and of course got a coffee cup as a reward  Did use a mini nuke to "soften up" the Behemoth in Evergreen Mills.
