 i just had my sleep "interupted" by disturbing dreams! does this signify a point in the game, is there a set timing for this to happen? do you have to be at a particular level or have to of finished a certain quest?

wow! this is fun :D

( a vampire question... if you become a vampire, do the quests and complete everything you could do, then get yourself cured; how much of an effect would it have on your return to the main quest and the rest of the world?)

Q1

If your disturbed dreams are not vampiric you are on the main quest and it's part of it. It doesn't give you anything except insomnia. It starts after you have completed the first few main quests (someone probably knows exactly where but I can't remember).

Lots of people start to go loopy.

You have to find and clear out the nearest sixth house lairs to cure them (doesn't affect you).

You should have 'disturbed dreams' as a topic in your dialogue box. The dreams stop after you have done another part of the main quest.

Q2

As a vampire having been cured, the only difference I found in the game was that my 'sneak' skill had been halved from 100 to 50. This let me gain another five levels legitimately but didn't affect anything else.

People don't recognise you as a vampire, nor do they know you have been a vampire when you resurface.

It's quite nice to have the necromancer's amulet before playing as a vampire as that means your health is always being restored and you don't have to tote around a load of potions or suck people dry.

As a hint (not a spoiler) you probably need to obtain a list of vampiric quests from UESP or equivalent. They are not well signposted in the game.

Wrong. I've actually experienced the disturbing dreams AFTER I've killed Dagoth Ur, in all 3 of the savegames I've done it in. And yes this is with the latest patches (Bloodmoon patch included). It doesn't make sense to me so I'm guessing it's a glitch (maybe a glitch with only my game? I dunno).

You might be right. It could depend on where you sleep. I've noticed that if I sleep rough I don't get the dreams. If I sleep in a bed I do. Then the dreams come one after the other. So perhaps they stop after you've had them all.

Yeah all 3 times I've slept and got the dreams it was in a bed (I think) and once you've had them all (there's roughly 5 in all) they do go away. At least in my experience they do. :P

Erm... what does that have to do with the topic? Well I guess she mentioned that her sneak skill had dropped in half... :P

Anyways, there aren't any as far as I know, but I haven't really explored the expansions that much.
