McclaudEagle
Hi. Unfortunately, I can't get any screenshots, so I'm going to explain it as best I can. Basically, every so often, the landscape looks strange. It shows up as incredibly low resolution and covered in small black dots. The texture I am referring to is the one that you'll find under the game world. Now, I don't know what's causing it. I have tried numerous solutions, even to the point of re-installing the game. I have all my settings to the best they can be, but the problem persists. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
shotgun188
Hmm sounds like vanilla oblivion lod is showing up way too close. Is it showing up right under your feet or is it just closer than normal?I have had the second problem before but it almost seemed to fix itself so I can't help you. McclaudEagle
I'd say it appears about 50 or so meters away from my character. I've read somewhere that it's called the "pepper effect" or something like that.
MorpheusDruidic
If your speaking of the actual distant land having dots on it this is sort of normal (expecially after the use of something like qtp3) and you will need to download a appropriate texture pack for lod. Some of which can kill your fps.Forcing your trees to load farther and Depth of Field rock for covering this up Also make sure when u re-install to delete the Oblivion.ini in your my documents as it will stay after a un-install, and if a setting has been changed in it, the problem will persist even after a re-install. (Had this happen in my newb days when i tried to force high res lod textures and my lod was loaded right under my char)
McclaudEagle
No, the problem is that it's loading far too close than normal. With max settings, I shouldn't see the LOD for about 300+ meters, but I am seeing them at only 50 meters. I know, I should have made that clearer in my first post.
