Hair Rendering Issues

i have run into the problem, with the Vanilla game no less, of hair not being centered upon the NPC heads properly

instead of being where it is suppossed to be, it is roughly an inch and a half back (in game measurements), meaning there is a LOT of frontal balding in both genders....

is this a common glitch that can be fixed with a patch, or do i need to reinstall the game. i didn't encounter this issue until i unpacked the game files to make use for modding, but haven't actually done anything to the hair models, or any model for that matter :(

unpacked the files? What like all of them? Then didn't do anything to them no less. hmmm I can't think of a better way to break the game. Seems like everytime I tried that it ended up breaking the game somehow. However if you are just unpacking files one at a time, it's a different story. The small scale unpacking is harmless. Then I have to ask you if you didn't do anything to the files, why would you unpack them. Most modders will only unpack what they need when they need it, and put it in the modders own folder.

i unpacked the files because i MEANT to do something with them later, but hadn't yet got the chance before i noticed the glitch. i've unpacked game files for FO3 and Oblivion without any kind of error. the only time i ever encountered any kind of mesh glitch is when i would run a mod of some sort or mess with master files. but again, i haven't even touched any of it or done anything in the NV Geck since i've gotten it. the glitch coincides roughly with the unpacking, so i assume they might be related, though my neighbor has all of his files unpacked, and is running NV glitch free.

the majority of the modders here probably have the game files in thier data folders unpacked as well, but i've never heard of this issue, which is why i also wonder if its a patchable glitch.

as a patch would be easier than a reinstall (from my lack of internet, i'd need to carry my computer to my neighbor's place), i figured i'd ask

I hear you, I have the same problem, but didn't figure out what caused it and why. Also the hair shows through the hats.

Does that look similar to you?

Then again, if you delete the folders and let it load the BSA's it shows up fine...odd

Rename the meshes\character directory to something else, or delete it entirely, and the problem goes away. The game will revert to using the BSA packed files instead of the files in the unpacked directory. It may come back if you install a body-replacer mod though.
