Kharika Posted November 11, 2010 Share Posted November 11, 2010 With all this Ghost Armor , Nova and Kerrigan characters out there now.....I would like to see a Jim Raynor / Tycus Terran Marine Power armor. Complete with Basic issue Terran Marine rifle as well as Jim's big sniper rifle.Would be cool if you could get the visor's to rise and lower themselves somehow. dra6o0n Posted November 15, 2010 Share Posted November 15, 2010 Instead of a full on SC2 Mod, why not use that as a idea for "Robotic Power Armors"? Basically, think of it as a suit of automotive armor that you use, comes with loads of features maybe... For starters, it buffs your strength like any power armor, but also doesn't give you a speed penalty because it has it's own set of powered muscles.It's one tier higher than regular power armors, and is supposedly complex and very technical. Next possible ability is increasing your accuracy with many weapons, since it can stabilize your aim. The protection of this armor would be good, and it would be worn as a entire set, meaning Body and Head and Face are used. The downside is that you need to create a power source in order to use this armor. You must find Fission Batteries and craft (recharge) a energy pack (on the back of your armor). If you do not have the energy pack while wearing your armor, you end up taking stat penalties (STR, and AGI and aim and speed penalties) Stats for a general Robotic Power Armor:+25DT+Normal Run Speed (When powered, you can run at normal speeds with 2 handed weapons)+Accuracy (When powered, your shots are more stable)+2 STR (When powered)+2 AGI (When powered)+Rad Resist +60% (Only when powered do you get this)+Waterbreathing (When powered)+Ocean Walker (You sink in water) Power armor training isn't needed, but a power source is mandatory to use it fully. Now imagine your enemies (probably enclave) using this against you? The biggest weakness, to this suit, is anti-robotic weaponry, such as pulse mines and grenades. Kharika Posted November 17, 2010 Author Share Posted November 17, 2010 Thank you for the creative input. and yeah it would be required to be powered in hardcore mode. but i think it would be a bit excessive with hardcore disabled.with that being said there can also be a quest put in to not only find the suit, but the required power source for it as well.[replacing the fusion battery idea.] cause some people just don't want to ghetto rig a piece of equipment aka "lets duck tape this battery to my leg, that will work right?" dra6o0n Posted November 17, 2010 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Well my idea was that you empty the units of energy from Fission batteries, into a new container, which is your suit. And powered suit can have multiple tools to recharge it if you don't have any Fission batteries, of which you can probably craft from the workbench. The best bet is a mod that adds a recharging station in the Helios Power Plant, which fully recharges your suit. Also, you can craft additional "batteries" from Fission Batteries and other items, which in turn kinda acts like backup batteries you can use as a "aid" item.These batteries are also charged when you go to the power plant to recharge them. Think Megaman, with your Energy bar, and your 4 Energy packs. Maybe these suits have different stats in hardcore and non-hardcore modes...Like some functions only possible in hardcore, whilst some are disabled in non-hardcore. Possible Hardcore Function:- Coolant System Addon (lowers the rate of which you get dehydrated in the game, which in turn lowers the rate of which you need sleep, because you tire and thirst less) (Mojave Desert is HOT so typically you can cool yourself off) (Increases power usage)- Decreased Suit Weight Addon (increases the total weight of your character equal to the weight of your suit) (Increases power usage a bit)- Turbo Mode Addon (increases the speed of which you run and the height of your jump) (Increases power usage as you move)- Autonomous Stealth Field (allows user to activate a Stealth Field addon at a cost of power) (decreased movement speed since most of the suit's power is set to stealth)- Self-sufficient Reactor (This important addon allows you to regenerate power over time) (inflicts 0.1rad/sec to use) Maybe you can customize the suit, only only certain features can be equipped at once.
