MTGO

Hello all, MovingSalad here, recently I purchased an account for Magic The gathering Online, for those of you thast have no idea what I am talking about magic is a Card game based on summoning creatures to fight for you and using spells to take out your enemy. You play this game with other poeple in real life or you buy MTG: Online and play there, where you can buy virtual cards ad have matches just liek you would in real life. This is the link to the website if you are interested in buying an account.

Anyway, the real reason I posted this was to look for others on this site that play as well, if you do please give me your Username and we can play!

I feel sorry for anyone dumb enough to actually fall for that scam. Do you realize that you're paying the exact same price as for the paper cards, but you don't even get anything for your money? Not only that, but you don't get any of the social experience of playing Magic against real humans. A few chat lines do not at all compare to the fun of face-to-face games. And did I mention you don't get access to all the fun old cards?

And just to make things worse, there's a little program called Apprentice that allows the exact same kind of online games for free. No cards to buy, no subscription fees, you just build your deck and play. Want a deck of 30 Black Lotus, 30 Ancestral Recall? Sure. Want to practice tournament-level Type II? Sure.

I've been playing the game for over eight years now, and have never had even the slightest desire to waste my money on MTGO. If anyone wants to play on Apprentice, I'd be happy to, of course. *evil laugh*

I realise that the virtual cards are for the same amount of money as physical ones. But however, I like how I am able to play with tons of other poeple. There is a lack of people that play magic in my area, in real life of course.

Waht is this "apprentice" that you talk about, tell me more, my Hellspawned Falcon.

Thank you, Peregrine...err...you mentioned "trust your opponent not to cheat" what do you mean exactly?

"Waiting for the angels of avalon", eh? Sounds like a battle of evermore quote if I've ever heard one, that's nice to know that there are other Led Zeppelin fans out there.

Last october I was fortunate enough to bea ble to see Robert Plant live.

I mean exactly what I said. The program itself does essentially nothing to prevent your opponent from cheating. There's nothing to stop someone from bringing an illegal deck, drawing extra cards, etc. Just like in real life, you actually have to trust them and pay attention.
