Monkey Robot

Hmm...this could prove very helpful for people who have been crippled or it could also find uses in military applications like body armor with increased capabilities (think hyper-strong armor that augments body strength and reacts just like normal muscle) that could make our troops really kick ass.

The only thing that comes to mind now is an army of hyper intelligent monkies attacking humans with robots controlled by their super mind powers. It's like Terminator meets Watership Down on steriods and crack.

*shudders* *jumps at noise as cat knocks something off kitchen table*

Phew... I thought it was a monkey controlled robot coming for my brain...

Agreed, though I must say the part about military applications is more unnerving than anything, especially since that is probably what it will be end up being applied to. Just think, the ability to fly a plane from on board an aircraft carrier by just being hooked up to the flight controls and driving a tank over 100's of miles without ever having to leave the states.

I wonder if there would also be market for this sort of thing in sports? It seems there are a lot of possible applications for this sort of technology.

Wow. Lol, if that's true, that's pretty amazing. But notice how they never said anything about how well the technology actually works. I don't expect it's terribly accurate...

Actually this is called electro encephalograph bio feedback and they've been researching it for years now. From what i've studied about it, the acuracy is quite good. There was one instance where an 8 year old kid with mental disabilities could control pacman, comepletely with his thoughts.

It's very interesting stuff and definately a useful technology. I think the earliest reports i've read on this took place somewhere in the late 70's through the 80's.

It's not a new idea but i guess it's being perfected now.

Then it still won't be totally available for a few years, I think.
