OBmodist
I've installed Oblivion, all official Oblivion add-ons including Shivering Isles, and all three Unofficial Oblivion Patches (regular, mods patch, shivering isles patch). When I use Oblivion Mod Manager and check for conflicts, it tells me there's a bunch of conflicts. Is this normal? Is it supposed to say there's conflicts? If not, then why am I getting conflicts? And what load order should I set in OBMM? Also, is OOO compatible with the Unofficial Patches?
Smooth613
Ignore OBMM's conflict detection. It's pure rubbish, utterly useless. All it's telling you is that two separate mods have the same resources. Well of course they do, that's why it's a patch, to fix the old "broken" ones, or a mod, to replace or add new resources to the game. Conflicts do not always mean something is broken. Read Understanding Mod Conflict Reports and Compatibility and You for more information. So yes, it's perfectly normal. Again, ignore OBMM's useless conflict detection. If you truly want conflict detection you need to first educate yourself on how mods work and then use a real utility, like Wrye Bash and TES4Edit. Use BOSS to sort your Load Order. It's simple to use and will handle your LO for you. Plus it's correct 99% of the time. Final question; Yes.
OBmodist
Does BOSS work with all mods? I always thought it was just for FCOM. (Which I gave up on after following the instructions one step at a time and pinging about fifty red files in Wyre Bash afterwards.) Also, is OOO fun enough by itself to not need FCOM? Smooth613
You should always use BOSS. It's for every mod. The team is constantly updating and adding mods to the Masterlist. I cannot comment on just OOO, I've only ever used it for a very short time. However I can suggest TIE, Tamriel Immersion Experience. It's my favorite overhaul and it only uses vanilla resources and does so in a brilliant fashion. Installation is ever so simple, it's one single ESP file that you place in your data folder and activate via your mod manager of choice. Viola! You're done. Enjoy. LFact
You should always use BOSS. It's for every mod. The team is constantly updating and adding mods to the Masterlist. -snip- Unless the mod is pretty new, or unknown, or personal/private one(Then you have to use OBMM or Wrye Bash to manually adjust loading order). But the masterlist is constantly updated, so do not forget to grab latest masterlist when you're gonna use BOSS.
