i got 2 plugins for oblivion, the final fantasy first tsurugi one and the myths and legends weapon plugins. how can i run both of them at the same time because it says about overwriting a file and im not sure whether i need to have it kept as it is, or to overwrite it.

is there a way of running them both (must be a way) or can you only run the one plugin at a time???

also im not sure that this question was covered in an earlier thread, 150 pages of threads is too much for me to look thru :P

ty for the help :)

Most of the time, you can run multiple plugins, the only exception is when the plugins do something to the same area/object/function. Then they conflict, and can cause unexpected things to happen. What file is it saying it needs to overwrite? I may be able to tell you if there will be any conflict problems due to overwriting it. There probably won't be, but it's good to check.

the files are Textures, meshes and sound. i think that they are already set for the final fantasy plugin, so if i overwrite that wont the final fantasy one will be buggered??? i read the txt file that was with them both and it said nothing about this

I'm pretty sure those don't conflict in any way, but asking you to overwrite something with only two plugins is a bit suspicious. What exactly does myths and legends weapons do?

copied traight from the .txt file:

Myths and Legends : Weapons adds 14 unique artifacts to the game,

each weapon has a story that goes with it. These stories have clues

which you must decipher and follow in order to find and own these

weapons.

This MOD is designed with the high-level player in mind. Searching for

and finding these weapons at a lower level will be impossible for some.

Also, you may find the weapons to be too powerful if your character is

at a low level, ruining the game experience.

The difficulty in finding the weapons ranges from Moderate to Insane.

This IS intentional, the locations and directions have been tested and

the difficulty you will face in finding them is what we intended.

There are 7 books in total, they can be found at the following locations :

Myths and Legends : Volume 1 --- Mach-Na's Books, Cheydinhal

Myths and Legends : Volume 2 --- First Edition, Imperial City Market District

Myths and Legends : Volume 3 --- Lelles' Quality Merchandise, Anvil Bayside

Myths and Legends : Volume 4 --- Southern Books, Leyawiin

Myths and Legends : Volume 5 --- Novaroma, Bruma

Myths and Legends : Volume 6 --- Renoit's Books, Chorrol

Myths and Legends : Special Edition --- The Fair Deal, Bravil

Just replace the files. If the FF thing gets corrupted (98.9% chance it won't), install it again.

These really shouldn't conflict, as they are using different filenames.

I think the only thing it overwrites is the texture folder, not the textures themselves. Doing it will only add the new textures to the map, it will not replace the map with just the textures from the last mod you are installing.

Guys, I don't have any authority here, and only one person in this thread has done this, but come on:

There's a signature function for a reason. SO YOU DON'T SIGN YOUR POSTS!!! Just use the signature function!!!

Sorry, just had to say that... on topic though, I think he means that the plugins might have the same name. Just rename the files and there you go.
