KhajiitAsassin
Hello, i need some help. In the mages guild quest where you are supposed to go to Brina Cross Inn (I think) rent a room, and then be contacted by a mages guild something or another, i can't rent a room. I think i've rented a room there before, and now the Innkeep only says "I hope the bed is comfortable enough for you" Everytime i use the topic "Bed", no matter for how long i sleep there. So, my question is: Can i do something to make the quest progress? Can i in any way reset the NPC? Or can i alter something throught the CS? I'd be happy for a quick answer. Thanks. I've heard of this bug before. Maybe if you would sleep in the bed you rented a while, go outside and return after one day has passed? Maybe, like any normal inn, you could rent a bed again. KhajiitAsassin
Nah, didn't work. But thanks for the suggestion.
Rhydderch Hael
Once you recieve the quest from Carahil in Anvil, you're supposed to head to Brina Cross and talk with Airelle Jurard before renting the room. Once you rent the room from the proprietor, the High Elf lady will ask you if you're worried about the recent murders. After that, you head into your room, and Airelle will join you thereafter. Once you talk with her, you rest and head out onto the Gold Road for the mission. If you're not doing any of those steps, you're not doing the quest correctly. KhajiitAsassin
I did it in this order: 1: Recieved quest 2: Travelled to Brina Cross inn 3: Talked to Airelle, and was told to hire a room And that's where i'm stuck right now, since hiring a room seems to be the trigger for the next quest step. Malchik
You did say that you were a merchant when hiring the room? If you don't it may break the quest. Has the other guest in the Inn (the one in the blue dress) spoken to you? If not speak to her. You shouldn't need to sleep in the bed to get Arielle to talk to you just enter the room and wait. Is Arielle still in the room when you come downstairs?
Rhydderch Hael
I want to be of some help, but I don't know if this will do so: are you sure you slept in the bed that was allocated to you? There are three rooms in Brina Cross. Yours is the one farthest down the hallway. Some of my characters are so casual about breaking-and-entering that they sometimes forget which room was supposed to be theirs and not some other traveler's. ;) Once you crack open a door, the red icon that denotes an illegal entry is replaced by a white one, making it diffucult to track which rooms are off-limits from those that are not. No, i'm sure that i slept in the right bed, i don't have the habit of cracking the inn doors :D (Not sufficient ammount of loot  ) But i'll try talking to everyone in the inn again, and sleeping in all the beds. Hope that'll work. EDIT: Obviously not.
Malchik
The console command will probably be either GetStage MG04Restore 30 or 40. 50 is too far on.

That didn't change anything, it only gave me a parameter error about EXPECTED parameters of all things :( I guess i'm doomed. Now the fighters guild quest have f-ed up on me too.
