Ainene
Final Update on Problem Solving The Game works perfectly on 1.07 with all DLC's and FOSE! the problem was Mods. I'm able to play more than 30minutes and actually exit the game without crashes or the game being stuck in background (window mode does this) Hello! I just wanted to ask you guys if you can solve my problem. also I will be adding all advices to a list so that further people looking for problems on Windows 7 x64 can try them out (Incase there isn't one such list!) Problem:Crash to Desktop every 2-6minutesRandom Freezes when saving & loading in small timeframe (you do know what I mean)Game wont refuse to quit when I either "qqq" or exit game manually but this isn't much of a problem for me. probly a addon causes this. I don't have a problem force killing fallout. Tried Solutions:FFDshow Fix (Adding Fallout3.exe)What did it do? It actually did nothing from what I felt, DID NOTHING, It was already included in list but I added it again to be 'sure' well I did add fose as well. do note that I uninstalled CCCP abit later with the option not to save configAdd iNumHWThreads=2 Yes It actually helped with my freezes. I'm using a tripple core. Using threads=3 didn't help. maybe did it worse. Compability XP (SP3)I don't know for sure if it did much but it seems it DID help. aint sure.Disabling AAOnly thing it did was lower my memory usage by 20-50% also increased FPS as wellDisabling HDRWell It DID help abit not much thouRunning Window ModeThis HELPED MOST! I can actually play more than 20minutes. making this game PLAYABLE but for the matter worse I hate window mode. (NEVER did like it. it's a neat function but not a good feeling for me)Fixing .Net 3I believe Windows 7 Ultimate x64 already has the fixed version. if not do say so and I will try to use the version you provided link forDisable UACRunning with Disabled UAC also note that I installed in another partition so that solves that as well, also note I never had problems with UACVsync On/OffDoesnt help with CTD or such. only visual (stuttering)Updated DriversRunning quite new drivers! (all but ATI are latest. ATI @ 10.9)Visual Theme DisabledYeah, Tread it, didnt helpAdministration option is always on for me. I also tried it forcing to admin even thou I'm a admin but didnt help rather didnt do anythingDisabled G4WLYeah, I did manually disable it on FOMM but If I remember correctly FOSE does disable it as wellIncase you DIDN'T notice but I'm running the PCB (Purge Cell Buffer) Mod. Lotus Armor does seem to create texture problems with the addons so I'm not using itNote #3: Unofficial Patch does seem to create more problems than it solves for me Addition Information:I have been browsing the web for more information but havn't found.I just hope this isnt a oblivion problem where the installation of Patch/DLC is cause. In that case I will hate Bethesda Software for creating yet another worthless copy of all DLC I'm quite good with computers so you can go all expert untill I ask what you meant! (this doesn't apply incase you werent clear enough!) Update It seems that I fixed my light texture problems. but created another one as well. That is when I loaded the save without streetlights (both versions) It seems to fix the texture problems I had when it came to lights, (was more than my pipboy light not showing correctly but also textures)but I create another problem and that problem causes game to Freeze after a few seconds upon entering a house. I will try out tomorrow if I can fix it by reinstalling the entire FO3 with backup copy of directory with DLC only installed. and checking if its possible to playthen if it's playable I will do a manual (the most boring thing to do!) check of every mod that I want to install. but this is just incase I don't have problems with the 1.07 + DLC installation. if I still have problems I shall return! LadyMilla
Just an idea: Somebody on the forums complained about frequent crashes/inability to enter certain areas. His problems stopped when he removed Streetlights. You might want to give it a try and disable that single mod. Also, as far as I remember, for Lings.esm it is preferable to place it at the end of your .esm list, along with LingsDLC.esm.
bben46
There is NO problem with running FO3 on Win7x64. I use it and many others do also with none of the problems you describe. Your most likely problem is a mod. First. remove ALL mods - not just disable as that does not remove them, they are still loaded, just not activated. Here is a simple way to revert to vanilla make a new folder outside of the Fallout folder.MOVE the data folder from your fallout folder into that folder - rename it oldata help keep track of it.Make a new data folder in the fallout folder (fallout 3\data)COPY the following list of files FROM the oldata folder into the new folderHere is the list of the files in a vanilla data folder. Music (folder)Shaders (folder)Video (folder)Credits.txt - probably not neededFallout-MenuVoices.bsaFallout-Meshes.bsaFallout-Misc.bsaFallout-sound.bsaFallout-Textures.bsaFallout-Voices.bsaFallout3.esm Then test with no mods. After you get the vanilla game working right add your mods one at a time to see which one is causing your problem. BTW, I hope you didn't type out that mod list by hand - use FOMM and copy paste the mod list

I do have the same problems (well, they seem pretty same to me since they pretty much happen at the same time n same wayalso, are you sure it doesn't matter how the patch is installed? I mean it's currently being installed from Vanilla to 1.07 and not from Vanilla -> Patch -> 1.07 (Oblivion had such problems with some stuff.)Well I will try out some mods that doesn't affect the gameplay but rather the visuals but I have tested quite a lot of mods (DIFFERENT from my entire. as this is my 8th if not more reinstallation. and I tried 5 different mod builds. (Different types of Mods)Most produced the same effects but some had more problems (caused by mods) well I will try out disabling the Visual-Editing Mods then Try out the Game Mechanism Mods etc etc well, rather wouldn't be better if I just load up my Fallout 3 1.07 with DLC folder that I set aside as backup? or much it be Non-DLC-NonPatched? Update: Without Streetlights the game became 2 unbalanced.
LadyMilla
Update: Without Streetlights the game became 2 unbalanced. Unbalanced? What does that mean: more difficult or more crash prone?
bben46
Just reinstalling the game using the built in uninstaller does not remove the mods or save games - or any of the problems associated with them. Deactivating a mod by removing the check mark does not remove the mod. it, as well as any problems are still loaded, just no longer used in game. So, just deactivating a mod may or may not work depending on what the problem is. My revert to vanilla DOES remove the mods entirely - But not the saves which are in a different location. After removing all mods and getting the vanilla game back, you can move the original set of mods back if you feel there is nothing wrong with them, or reinstall the mods if you do. And it's much quicker than another reinstall.

I'm quite experinced with computers n know how a clean uninstall is. that is entire wipe of Main Directory, Register & Additional Supporting Directories such as Profiles, AppData, Plugin & Uninstall information. What I meant was that I was gonna save my load order list. then just delete my "Fallout 3" Folder, Rename "Fallout 3 - Backup" to "Fallout 3" then try to play that and see if problems existsif there exists I do a clean uninstall and delete "Profile (Thou Saving Save Games in rar), AppData (If there is such, don't believe it thou) and Main Folder"
Ainene
Freeze after 6.59minutes. in 10th birthday. I'm guessing it's either DLC or HWThreads. note that I didnt use ANY kind of tweak. I will be trying out the HWThreads tweak! Update After playing 31minutes with Fallout 1.07 All DLC with the iHWThreads Fix I didn't encounter any single PROBLEMS!This does indicate the problems lie in mod configuration and blablablablabut I was able to find my problems. Thanks you for helping me isolating the problem. now I need to find a way to install a good overhaul. (FWE, WMK & EVE and others)I will backup my ini's and this fallout catogory and do a hand by hand installation unless you got some intresseting mod configurations or link to installations! *Kudos awarded for staying with me all the time*
