BlackSoul777
:smile:Hey people im honestly new to posting forum topics but I only need to know one thing. Me and a couple friends all want to make a new and amazing custom Deathclaw style companion and my friends want me to do the programming, scripting, etc.. but I have 2 major problems 1. being I honestly don't know how to make a companion 2. when I try to open Geck after I downloaded it off of the actual site using the fonv download it says "The procedure entry point vorbis_synthesis_idheader could not be located in the dynamic libraryC:\Windows\SYSTEM32\libvorbisfile.dll." That's all it says and I don't know what to do for the life of me the sooner I can get help the better  :happy:Thanks
templeofninpo
This is for initial set up- http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Bethsoft_Tutorial_GECK_Setup At the bottom of that page is reference to the basic tutorial. Take ten hours and do it. After that check out oGrayFox on youtube. He has the best (as far as I've seen) companion making tutorial. Other than that there are a number of tutorials that explain how to use the follow package. One of the main things with modding is data-mining... And making a religion of patience. Cheers. Have fun. BlackSoul777
Thanks I'll definetly check those out but will it literally take ten hours?
DrakeTheDragon
1 topic is enough, 6 wasn't necessary. Let's stick to this one. Transferring the one other reply so nothing will get lost. I don't know what to tell you about the second problem other than you could try consulting Google, but as for #1, I'd imagine that there are a plethora of guides out there that you could reference. If not, then I'd try mulling through some of the Vanilla followers in Geck and see what I find, then use that as a base. I've only made mods for Skryim, and I can tell you that everything I learned came just as much from trying things and watching results as it did from extensive Google searches. Getting into modding isn't easy, but it's an amazing experience and I suggest you stick to it. Good luck! Thanks TangoDrango I just hope someone in what seems like a huge forum site might know what to do
templeofninpo
Regarding your .dll issue-https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=pNr3VPXRJMGzogTr44GYBw&url=http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:FNV_GECK_v1.4_libvorbisfile.dll%3Ft%3D20111102225420&ved=0CB4QFjAB&usg=AFQjCNEVFDQeHHcMV8u7Cj2rsWGN--T3LQ&sig2=1qrx2sa-9nrIxzQVItFrGg Thats what I'm talking about with the data-mining. Ask google first before posting.
BlackSoul777
Sorry DrakeTheDragon my computer was acting weird and wouldn't post And templeofninpo I opened up that link and don't quite understand what to make of it Edited March 5, 2015 by BlackSoul777
templeofninpo
Ah. It means your .dll file is in the wrong place. all the stuff from the GECK needs to be in the same folder as the fallout.exe (the Data folder is also in there).
DrakeTheDragon
Sorry DrakeTheDragon my computer was acting weird and wouldn't post And templeofninpo I opened up that link and don't quite understand what to make of itNo need to apologize. I already suspected as much from 6 identical topics created one after another with only a minute interval between each other. No hard feelings or anything. I did just clean up and merge them. Good luck with finding the help you need from the many knowledgeable people around here.
BlackSoul777
oh ok I deleted and reinstalled New Vegas and I'm going to do the same for Geck when I get time So when I install Geck again should I hit "save as" instead of just "save"? templeofninpo
Get the GECK from here-http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Bethsoft_Tutorial_GECK_Setup After you downloaded it unzip the file and run the geck.exe to install it. It will ask where to save it. Save it to the same folder the fallout game .exe is in. (You could also just save it to anywhere and cut and paste the files afterwards).
