Ihoe
it's good, but not good enough though. from the looks of it, you must be using a pre-made PC likely from HP, check your power supply and see if it can cope up with the GPU of your choice. if it is possible to push your budget a tad bit further to the $90-95 range, you could buy either a Radeon HD 5670 or Radeon HD 4850 512 MB, maybe, even a GeForce GTS 250 , since their prices are not that different. if you really don't have a choice, i also suggest taking a look at Radeon HD 5570 GDDR5 aswell, see which best suits your tastes and needs. xJamesG
I was more looking at NVIDIA so this the 250 looks pretty good (:And yeah, power supply is fine - It's a computer I put together myself with a little help from some guys who know a bit more about it than me! I noticed they released the GeForce GT 430 ... It looks although it would be as good if not better than the GeForce GTS 250 ... EDIT : My power supply is a 950 Watt Gold Silent Power Supply ... Ihoe
I was more looking at NVIDIA so this the 250 looks pretty good (:And yeah, power supply is fine - It's a computer I put together myself with a little help from some guys who know a bit more about it than me! EDIT : My power supply is a 950 Watt Gold Silent Power Supply ...The GT 430 Hardly copes up with 240, much less compared to 250. if you really feel an unbelievable pain in the butt for buying AMD's, you should also take DX11 out of your mind, or go over budget and buy a GTS 450. oh, why did you buy the GT 220 in the first place??? CommanderCrazy
You really are a fanboy eh Ihoe?NVidia cards have had DX11 since the GTS250. "The GT 430 Hardly copes up with 240, much less compared to 250"Are you saying that the 430 is worse the 240? because you are wrong. Horribly wrong. How about some advise from a long time Nvidia user xJamesG?
xJamesG
Well any advice would be good (:I thought the 430 was meant to be better?I mean at the moment I've only hit a few 'new' games like Fallout 3, Mirrors Edge, Half-Life 2 and Viva Pinata (don't ask) But I was thinking of getting a few more ... Maybe the new Duex Ex when it's released and stuff, but my computer is just lagging like a beast if I even run at Medium/High on 1920x1080 res :/I didn't really want that happening ... So am I right in saying I'd pretty much only need to upgrade the graphics? EDIT : Oh and BTW I found out apparently my Graphics Card is a GeForce 210 ... So yeah :/
CommanderCrazy
What I was getting at, is the 400 series craps all over the other NVidia cards out.But yeah, go with a new card. For $275 AU, I can get a GTX495 Super Overclock.Seriously considering it.
xJamesG
Woah! Sounds beastly! So which would you say to get? The GT 240 or 430?
xJamesG
Or maybe if I push my budget - The GTS 450 (:
Harbringe
Well reading up on some reviews forget the GT 240 cause it barely rates better than its predecessor the 220 and the GT 430 doesn't rate as well as a Nvidia card already out the GTS 250 .The GTS 450 seems to be your best choice if its within your budget.Hope this helps
