Creating a new 3D item. Say.. A hammer.

Check your .DDS paths in the nifskope. Also check that the DDS files are square (512x512,64x64). If you want upload the nif and dds and I will take a look. Some people get weird errors when they export DDS files. Not errors really, they just don't work right in game.

Before I knew sizes to use, I usually used 100x200mm for my dressers and stuff. Then I would just scale the item as needed. This isn't the best option though and leads bloated item sizes.

I have a large six story building that is 6000x6000mm and that is pretty big. You could count up the total length of your interior and make your building the same on the exterior. But most houses in the wasteland are larger inside then outside.

I think MORE kudos is due Interfer0's way, you help out so much on this forum and I second your call for this thread to be stickied or have a new section of the New Vegas Mod Talk opened dedicated to Beginners Tutorials to help clear the mod talk section of simple questions.

A simple question is better asked where it can then be answered but with the number of them being asked, by myself included, a dedicated section would be beneficial for the more experienced everyone.

Your dds files are not sized right. I would import them into gimp and crop them to 512 x 512. I'll try to import into blender too, and clean up the nif a little tomorrow. Or tonight if my insomnia drags on much longer.

Ok kool, well ill resize them to 512 in a sec, as for cleaning up the file, yeah its a mess lol, too many faces to texture i think, dont know / havent bothered to look into grouping just yet, altho i think that can be done in sketchup? Dont know it it will stay grouped when exported and stuff tho :\

You can group them in SKup. Make sure you use Group and not Componant, or it won't work.

I actually prefer grouping in Blender though. Just select all the item that use the same texture, and with your coursor over the viewport press CRTL + J. This will join all of the items together into one object.

Yeah you will see why thats more problematic for me once you load the file in blender HAHA

Ok textures are 512x512 pixles but its still picking up textures from neerby objects and throwing them onto the model, iv got a house ingame aswell but thats the same story as the box.

[EDIT]

Ok ill try that, altho the box should have all the textures repathed, the house has about 1200+ texture paths due to me not grouping stuff, but theres so many bits to group its rediculise LOL

Ill try the box one more time, or make a new box, use 3/4 textures, path them exactly and test it :) atm it only takes like 5minz to get an item from sketchup to NV ;)

Thanks again for helping, id still be stuck at the blender texture path error haha.

Oh, I think I know the problem. You need to change your nifs to use the DDS files in a relative path. Instead of pointing to the E:\Gamepath\data it needs to point to \data\textures\Mine\file.dds.

Either that are you are having the issue that I have seen before where your GIMP isn't outputting DDS files exactly right. Try paths, and if that doesn't work upload the textures, and I will re-output them and you can test that.

Either way the paths do need to be fixed.
