Ok today i was finishing the first building inside for my massive fully voice 4 hour long quest with new cities characters that i plan to bring out at christmas for you guys.(I have 1 month to complete) 8)

so i just testing some dialogue in game, i than noticed a floor tile was missing so i went back to the GECK i loaded this

FalloutNV.esm

and my mod

Hideout.esp(got to change the name)

but than GECK refused to load saying GECK has stop working and exiting :(

it works loading FalloutNV.esm only and not my mod file

i need help cause this mod was looking beautiful

is this because my mod is very large and GECK can't handle it (weird it should be)

or is it because GECK is being gay please help me...

Unfortunately under rare conditions your esp mod file can become "corrupted". Usually if you can't get it loaded in GECK (try a reboot) at all good chances it's broken. Try loading it in the game, if it still works in the game it might be opened on another computer (With more RAM?), otherwise it's broken, in that case you could only use an older copy (if you have one).

try opening it in Geck or change .bak (Stands for Backup) to .esp.

GECK only open data files as esm or esp

BAK files are not easy to change

Change the file extension from .bak to .esm.

Depending on what OS you're running (Guessing windows 7), go into control panel>all control panel options(click the arrow next to control panel)>folder options>view>uncheck hide extensions for known file types. if your in windows xp I'd assume its a similar process. Then just rename the file from "hideout.esp.9.bak" to "hideout.esp". then put this file into your data folder.
