gasar32
hello everyone, i just downloaded a texture mod. at first, i didnt knew how to install the mod, but now i know i have to create a textures folder, and than do something called "ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated" so i googled around a bit, and found a programme for Fo3 which didnt work haha surprise -.-. so i did this the manual way, as descriped in the readme. but nothing happens. what could i have done wrong? ill upload a picture of my fallout.ini so you could have a look what mistakes i could have made. but i even cant imagine how changing this lines should get the texture mod to work?! thy for ur help EDIT:as i just uploaded the picture i saw that the .ini file has been restored?! i saved it with these settings but after starting the game, it was like before editing it oO
Fonger
there are 2 archive invalidated mods on the nexus either should work if you follow the direction PRECISELY and the file you edit is not the one in your game saves area its the one in your game folder Because of how Steam runs this game also remember the name change required in the esm (if the version you are using has an esm, one of the nexus versions forgot the name change in the download)

Fonger
erm im running the DVD version.there are only 2 versions of this game available 1 - Steam 2 - illegal pirate version So if you believe your game is legal then no matter what else its a Steam version. and all information concerning Steam applies to your install

Fonger
the file in my documents - my games - is reset by the steam loader the slightly differently named file in your steam sub-directory for the game new vegas is the one you edit.INSTALL:1.) First open your "Fallout_default.ini" which is located in "Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas" and search for SArchiveList, once found add "Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.bsa" to the list before "Fallout - Textures.bsa". What it looks like before adding the new BSA to the list:SArchiveList=Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa What it looks like after adding the new BSA to the list:SArchiveList=Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa 2.) Search for bInvalidateOlderFiles and change it from 0 to 1. 3.) Save Fallout_default.ini. 4.) Place Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.bsa into your \Fallout 3\Data\ folder. 5.) All done! what it forgets to tell you is you need to rename this bsa to exactly Fallout - ArchiveInvalidation.bsa
