Skeuomorph
Hi all, I've started fixing some of the issues with the Beware the Girl Body Models released for FNV. I started this just to fix the nechk seams, but found numerous mesh issues: overlapping faces, duplicate vertices, flipped normals, etc. I've cleaned up the models (Cali and Berry HD so far) and adjusted the UV maps accordingly. I havent modded anything since Oblivion, but the main change is certainly the addition of model complexity to accomidate dismemberment. So, I'm working on the MeatCap Meshes for the Cali body model. Not until I imported the Nif to Blender did I realize that dismemberment does not work in game with this model. I started from scratch following this tutorial for FO3 as a guide: Rigging/Skinning and Dismemberment/VATS . The meat caps are completed, skinned, bone weighted, UV Mapped and ready to go. However, I have not found any FNV specific tutorials yet, so am I missing any changes between FO3 and FNV? Will rigging and dismemberment implementation following a FO3 tutorial actually wotk in FNV? boozhah
sorry to intrude on your questions but i thought since this was relevant to the title and it seems as u know what you are doing, hopefully some one can help me. i am making an armor model for the female rude body and i keep running into the issue after shrink wrapping where the meat caps show through, if i try and fix those by editing the mesh some, parts of the female body start to stick out so my question is do i need to cover the meat caps with the armor? what exactly do the meat caps do? The game should know to auto-hide those until needed, unless you did something to goof them up. @SkeuomorphI am sorry that I do not know the answer to your question--I am stuck at the stage of trying to learn how to get a modified body mesh back into the game without causing CTDs or 3D Picasso paintings. :^/Good luck to you on finding the answer. baduk
Hi! I am not aware of any changes in dismemberment in NV. But I havent tested anything yet, you should go in the game and blow some people away then you will see. But. I wonder how it is that your body models were so messed up to begin with? any fo3 bodys i have used in NV have all looked just fine and no issues.
