If all Bosmer are bound by the Green Pact, then how come a Wood Elf PC can harvest (and essentially kill) all the plants they want, and eat them, and never cannibalize their fallen foes, and no pissed off forest deity ever comes swooping down from on high to smite you?

Maybe they weren't raised in the Bosmer tradition, or they're just not as observant.

 

It's no different from Reform Jews who don't keep kosher IRL.

Eating the plants doesn't necesarly mean they have to kill them. Mayby by eating them they create a bond with thier fallen foes, a way to talk with them. If I remember corectly when you harvest a plant you only pick up the flowers of that plant, not the plant itself, so you're not realy killing it.

If you're harvesting root pulp, that'd kill the plant.

Yes was gonna say, in my experience, pulling out the root of a plant or snapping off the flower/stem usually causes it to die.

According to the Green Pact, the prohibition against harming the local flora applies only to plants in Valenwood. They are allowed to import plants for necessary building, etc.
