  1. After years of playing melee/unarmed builds, I'd like to see a berserker armor modded into New Vegas. Nothing more satisfying than having a drugged-up Viking ravaging the Mojave. General concept: But also with a female version. Thanks!
  2. 1. The Steam version, with all DLCs installed. I bought the game back in 2011 and have it patched, including YUP, NVAC, and the 4GB Patcher. 2. xNVSE version 6.2.9. If there's a newer version floating around, I've yet to hear about it. 3. Version 56.78 of JIP LN NVSE. Again, if there's a newer version, I'm not aware. If that's not enough, I've also gotten the "Out of memory" crash for the first time. I'll admit, my laptop isn't the best gaming rig around. I tried installing a patch to fix the snow effects (Think that might be killing my framerate), I tried running on low graphics settings, and still keep getting the same crash.
  3. I just installed Fallout: The Frontier, and it keeps giving me a message claiming my version of JIP LN NVSE is outdated. I downloaded and installed all the vital stuff to get The Frontier up and running, but no matter what, it keeps saying JIP LN is outdated and I have to update it. I looked all over the Nexus and elsewhere and could have sworn I have the latest version of JIP LN.
  4. I have NifSkope but don't know where to start. How do I find the relevant meshes/textures, import them into NifSkope, merge them appropriately, then put it all in the game? How does it all go together?
  5. I want to try my hand at modding the legacy Tesla helmet (the one that's only accessible in FNV via the console) but don't know where to start. I've never undertaken a project like this before. The closest I've ever done to modding is making minor edits to existing mods in the GECK. I want to add any of the following things to it: --The shotgun shell dreads from Salt-Upon-Wounds' helmet --The rope dreads from Glott's helmet in the mod The Legion Will Ryse (already downloaded that mod a long time ago for the way it replaces SUW's helmet) --The red hair from Link's Barbarian helmet from Breath of the Wild (YanL modded that whole armor in for me back in 2018) --Feathers from the vanilla Legion decanus helmet I want to do this mod for me, to see if I can pull it off. How would I go about merging assets from two existing helmets in FNV? I tried looking in the GECK and can't find anything on how to do it. I looked at tutorials on YouTube and couldn't find anything on how to do something like this. I'd appreciate any help anyone has to offer on how to do this, especially from veteran modders. Every bit helps. Thanks.
  6. So I recently discovered the FO3 Tesla helmet and armor in FNV via console commands. I like that armor better than the Remnants and Gannon family Tesla armors. But I'd like something more on the helmet, though, for role-playing as a tribal character. Some ideas include: --Deathclaw horns a la dragbody's Legion power armor mod --The shotgun shell dreads from Salt-Upon-Wounds' helmet from Honest Hearts --Ripping another page from dragbody's book, the rope dreads from Glott's helmet/the modded SUW helmet from another mod, The Legion Will Ryse --The red hair from Link's Barbarian Armor helmet in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. YanL once cobbled that together as a mod for me back in 2018. --Feathers from the Legion Decanus helmet. YanL did something similar with a helmet for his improved Courier's Stash armor mod. Or any mix of two or more of these things. I'd greatly appreciate this for my current Courier. Thanks to anybody who makes this mod.
  7. Since Bethesda released the new update to remove the Games for Windows Live requirement, I can't play FO3 AT ALL. It'll launch but when I click "New Game", the game crashes to the desktop on the loading screen. WHY? What good is a game if I can't play it? I tried loading with and without FOSE--SAME THING.
  8. Coming off of the Barbarian Armor from Breath of the Wild, I now have a hankering for running roughshod all over the wasteland while playing as Linkle. I've already got a crossbow mod but it doesn't do pistol crossbows. And dual-wielding like John Woo is unrealistic; it'd make aiming and reloading difficult. Hence the request for the outfit and a single pistol crossbow. Concept: The ladies' version of the merc charmer outfit or the regulator duster seems like a good base to work from. We could use the compass from Honest Hearts and choker from the prostitute outfit for the necklaces.
  9. I want to take a break from my usual "tribal genius" build and thought of role-playing as a female pimp/thug. I thought: What better outfit to use than Poison's garb from the Final Fight and Street Fighter games? I'd like to not only role-play as a pimp character, but also do this as a low-DT challenge run, so I'd say zero (on par with the prostitute outfits). You wouldn't have to do much to the police hat. Just remove the police logo and put a chain around it. The chains and handcuffs from the exposed prostitute outfit will do fine. Take the shorts from the normal women's prostitute outfit and recolor them blue, with red shoes recolored from the same garb. Then make a low-cut version of the top from the female merc grunt outfit. Item weight? I'd say about 2 "pounds". I want to keep the load light. Repair with other prostitute outfits (normal) and Pre-War clothing/hats, merc outfits, and other clothes as well as the Honest Hearts light armors (Jury Rigging). Stick it in Doc Mitchell's house and you're golden. Also have Johnson Nash, Cliff Briscoe, and Ralph sell them. Bonuses: +2 to Charisma for the hat, +5 to Melee for the clothes. Proof of concept: If there's any takers, I'd appreciate having this mod made. Obviously, this would be female-only. I NEVER play as men and never will. ADDENDUM: Make the shoes a separate item from the outfit itself, and add a separate pair of boots. I find the notion of scaling ruined buildings in high heels impractical and immersion-breaking. I'd like to be able to switch between both pairs of shoes, so have them use the "BodyAddOn3" slot.
  10. Did you go back to the train station near where you went to speak to Kiernan? If not, you have to go there and inform her that The King wants to help with the relief effort. Then report back to The King.
  11. At present moment, I have 1,789 hours logged in Fallout: New Vegas and 1,754 in Team Fortress 2. I'd say that says plenty.
  12. Seeing as how ghouls were originally non-mutated humans, they're still human because of their ancestry. Their parents and grandparents were obviously human, too. You don't grow out of your ancestry. Nature doesn't allow that.
  13. As far as leveling and character building go in TES6, I hope to hell we get stats back. I don't like how they replaced stats with perks in Skyrim. Also, GIVE US A PROPER IN-GAME MAP! There's no roads in the vanilla map for Skyrim, forcing people to mod them in! I found myself getting lost all too often. And I still haven't finished the main quest yet. I barely touch Skyrim anyway. Hell, I've got a backlog of games I've still never played. I was so caught up in Oxhorn's rampant bigotry that I forgot to mention the power trips and bogus beard growth pills. He shuts down other YouTubers for criticizing and even correcting him. And I wonder how many people were unfortunate to actually buy those beard pills. If there's a sucker born every minute like P.T. Barnum said, then I bet some neckbearded hipsters got suckered into buying this crap. I sure as f*** wouldn't as I hate having facial hair and body hair PERIOD. YUCK! Always have! I'd rather laser and hormone it away and be done with it. I also forgot to mention how he filmed a teenage girl (itself already creepy enough) and then fat-shamed her. This is a 40-year-old man who doesn't look like he's said no to a donut or done a sit-up in twenty years! What a creep! As for the bigotry, I wouldn't be surprised if Oxhorn is a closeted gay man himself. You know how the loudest homophobes are always in the closet themselves? I bet he's so far in that he's finding all the Christmas presents his parents never bought him. It's a matter of time before he's caught looking up guys on Grindr or perhaps some bear dating site. Even if that's not the case, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a transphobe, too, and less so if he's caught with his pants down like Alex Jones was. If it happens while he's livestreaming, I'll laugh my ass off. If the loudest transphobes aren't unhatched eggs themselves (which seems unlikely in Oxhorn's case), they're turned on by the notion of schtupping a trans woman (and it seems to always be straight cis guys for some reason). And they lash out violently when confronted with such desires because they're scared that admitting it will make them gay. IT f***ing DOESN'T! These aren't drag queens we're talking about here! There's no un-dragging with a trans girl; what you see is what you get. Totally different ballgame from the cis man who dresses as a woman usually, though not always, for entertainment purposes. And "traps" don't exist, either. Anyone who believes that dangerous myth must have watched too many Wile E. Coyote cartoons; nobody or their dog is going to spend years of transitioning just so they can trick someone into sleeping with them!
  14. If TES6 or FO5 ends up being multiplayer-only, that's a deal-breaker. And in the case of FO5, get Obsidian to develop it and let them do it RIGHT this time. Ditto a remaster of New Vegas; make it RIGHT this time, with all the stuff that Obsidian never got to implement. And TEST THE s*** OUT OF IT! Why release a game if you're not going to make sure it works right? That's not gaming. It's greed and not giving a s***. Also, Bethesda should quit having Brandon "Oxhorn" Dennis shill for their games on account of his homophobic and misogynistic blog posts. I've watched some exposés on the man such as this one and after learning all this s*** about him, I'm DONE. I can't support a bigoted YouTuber like that, so I unsubscribed from his channel. It was already bad enough that he shills for Bethesda like it's going out of style and relentlessly covers FO76 but the bigotry is the icing on the s*** cake. A gay guy created the OG Fallout; I doubt Tim Cain wants some bigoted neckbeard with a bowler hat promoting his baby. As a matter of fact, I plan on booking a trip to the doctor to get on some spironolactone and estradiol, then off to get laser hair removal. Then to cap it off after a few years on the titty skittles, have a plumbing installation downstairs, if you get my drift. Then I'll go to a lesbian bar, pick up some hot chick, take her home, smoke a bowl, and make sexy times with her to piss Oxhorn off.
  15. I've never played Morrowind, but I did grow up with Duke Nukem 3D. I remember playing it without the parental lock as an adolescent in the late '90s. I played the Genesis version of Mortal Kombat because it had the blood code, another example of Genesis doing what Nintendon't. I'd say the same principle applies to Morrowind.
  16. What part of "Do it right the first time or not at all" does Bethesda not understand and why?
  17. The Genesis Sonic games are high on the list, especially that Holy Grail of them all: Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Sonic Mania has become another go-to game. I love how Sega and Christian Whitehead took what made the old Genesis/Sega CD games great and improved on that. THAT'S what Sega should have given us on the Saturn! The 3D Sonic games all suck because of the camera issues; I kept falling through too many loops to justify playing further. Sega should have kept Sonic 2D or at least gone the 2.5D route like Nintendo did with New Super Mario Bros. The Saturn was a 2D powerhouse in its day so there's no reason Sega couldn't have given us something like Mania then and there instead of teasing Sonic Xtreme and then never releasing it. Mania has truly become S3&K's equal in every way. Sega really made Sonic great again. Oblivion was in the club of go-to games for a while but has long since fallen by the wayside. I fire it up now and then for mod testing, though, but then I quit because it's so exploitable. The fastest way to build your Intelligence is to summon skeletons or brew potions. If you want to build your health, equip some heavy armor and let a mudcrab beat on you. Leveling up requires you to sleep after building your major skills ten times; if you never sleep, you can finish the main quest, Shivering Isles, and Knights of the Nine all at level 1. Playing as a Breton and then equipping the Mundane Ring is a recipe for total immunity to magic. There are enchanted items that have Reflect Damage and Reflect Spell effects; equipping all of each type at once will render you totally immune to melee and magic damage. Merely making a spell or enchanting an item is a great way to break the game. And this is all before using the 100% Chameleon exploit. Fallout: New Vegas has since come to fill the role that Oblivion once did. I came to it from Oblivion because both games were made using the same engine. But boy was I in for a surprise. My first character in FNV was a Jane Everywoman not specced into any particular skills; I aborted that run because I had leveled her wrong for trying to pass certain skill checks. Nowadays, I've developed a system, which involves doing all the add-ons well before ever going to the Strip. I'll grind til I'm level 10, then start with Dead Money and end with Lonesome Road all in order of release. Then it's off to do the main quest and all the side quests I want. I've got plenty of mods here just like in Oblivion before it, but not enough to break the limit. FNV has its share of exploits, too, but not as bad as Oblivion. And the people also look more like real people than in Oblivion. There's so many ways to finish the game, DLCs and all. This and the mods always keep me coming back for more. My parrot always loves to watch me play, too, but he's yet to mimic any of the dialogue in the game. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is another one I return to here and there. I bought a used copy of it at GameStop 15 years ago, right after graduating from high school. I beat the game back then and still have that same clear file in order to play as Richter (I have the PS1 version). Mostly, though, I just play as Alucard. But I always enter the 99 Luck cheat to get the Lapis Lazuli early, then doing the glitch to keep Death from stripping my inventory. Then all I have to hunt for is the Shield Rod and the rest of the game is easy as f*#@. Hit Square and Circle to cast the Shield Rod/Alucard Shield spell, then just run into enemies with your shield up. Nearly nothing in the game can harm you now. Shaft and Dracula will go down in mere seconds. Legend of Zelda is among the ranks, particularly Ocarina of Time. It was the first Zelda game I ever played; I didn't have any Nintendo hardware til the N64 came out. I still have my childhood N64 and version 1.1 gray cartridge (here's a guide to tell which version your cartridge is) but haven't played it in a long time because I haven't modded my N64 to output HDMI yet. To hell with the composite cable that the system came with. When I'm not playing OoT, I've got Twilight Princess around. Those and Link's Awakening are the only three Zelda games I've ever finished; I only played the NES and Super NES games through emulators and re-releases and don't have any of the rest. I've also got Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, the old Diablos, Empire Earth, Duke Nukem 3D, the old Unreal games, Xenosaga, old school Halo, Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy 4-8 (7 is on PC and the rest are the PS1 releases), Secret of Mana, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Virtua Racing, Daytona USA, the old SimCity games, and Team Fortress 2 to migrate to and from.
  18. Bethesda has earned some heat despite making great games. Their games are so damn buggy and it's clear by their actions that they don't give a s*** about their own products. They didn't give a s*** when they tested Fallout: New Vegas and they damn well didn't give Obsidian enough time to put more stuff in the game. Oblivion was glitchy as hell. I've played Skyrim but haven't had any glitches so far, though. Now if Bethesda would cut ties with a certain bowler hat-wearing, cigar-chomping, scotch-drinking neckbeard due to his homophobic and misogynistic ways, that'd be great. I'm talking, of course, about Brandon M. Dennis d.b.a. Oxhorn. After having watched this exposé and others like it within the better part of the past week, I'm done with his channel. There's another, longer, more comprehensive video that I'd link to but unfortunately, it's a bit NSFW because there's some footage of 18+ mods that Oxhorn uses in his games. I unsubscribed from his channel upon learning all this about him. I find it appalling that such a good cinematographer can be such a dick. The incessant coverage of FO76 was already bad enough but this is even worse. He makes fake women's prisons and settlements in FO4; seems like he has some skeletons in his closet. He goes on about how porn is un-manly yet has no problem using nude mods in FO4; what a hypocrite! He filmed a teenage girl in public (itself already bad enough) and then fat-shamed her WHEN HE HIMSELF DOESN'T LOOK LIKE HE'S SAID NO TO A DONUT OR SEEN THE INSIDE OF A GYM IN TWENTY YEARS! He's slandered Obsidian by contradicting FNV's in-game lore and claiming they were somehow wrong about it. He abuses his influence by shutting down anyone who disagrees with him or even corrects him on in-game lore. And the puke icing on the s*** cake? Oxhorn has written posts online (which he's tried to bury) detailing his hatred of gay people WHEN HIS FAVORITE GAME WAS f***ing CREATED BY A GAY GUY! Hell, I'd consider FNV the most politically correct game in the Fallout series because the best way to do the most damage against human enemies is to play as a bisexual character. That's before factoring in the gay companions: Veronica, Christine, and Arcade. I have a step-niece who's a lesbian and if Oxhorn bashed her or anyone else I knew because of their orientation, he'd feel the outcome of a thousand battles. I doubt Tim Cain would want Bethesda to partner with a bigot to promote his baby. If I ran Bethesda or even created any of their IPs (past or present), I'd have severed ties with Oxhorn already by now. Like Follows-Chalk itching to explore civilization, I now want to transition and then go to a lesbian bar, pick up some cute girl, take her home, smoke a bowl, and make sexy times with her to piss Oxhorn off. Book an appointment at the endocrinologist, start popping some titty skittles, grow some boobs and wide hips, and then have a surgeon install a hoo-ha downstairs. Then it's scissor-me-timbers time. All to enrage a fat neckbeard on the opposite end of the U.S. because he promotes hate and discrimination. TL;DR: Bethesda makes good games but doesn't give a f*** about their product. Also, f*** Oxhorn. There's a limit to separating art from the artist, and he crossed it.
  19. She's Embrace and the Fist of Rawr have been my go-to unarmed weapons for the longest time, but lately I'd like electrified versions of them. Solution? Take these weapons as a base, add the capacitors from the protonic axes (one set of capacitors for each claw), and make the claws glow just like the protonic axe's blade. Put the capacitors on the backs of the hands and add the arm plates from Arcade's Tesla armor for both gauntlets, held together with the medical braces/screws from the original weapons. So we'll need assets from Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road for these bad boys. Item weights: 4 "pounds" heaver than the original SE and FoR, to account for the electronic components (reduced accordingly with the appropriate weight perks). Damage per attack and DPS: 35 damage/attack, 55 DPS for the Yao Guai glove; 60 damage/attack and 105 DPS for the protonic FoR. Keep the Deathclaw gauntlet's damage bonuses the same as FoR but add EMP damage against power armor and robots for both gauntlets. Location: That home of all weapon and armor mods, Doc Mitchell's house. Make them available for purchase from anyone selling GRA items and the Sink CIU. Lobotomites and White Legs could even carry them from level 25 on. Craftable: Yes, make them so. I think 1 YG fist or Deathclaw hand, 1 conductor, 1 fission battery and 1 scrap electronics should do it. Require 30 Science for a little balance. Repair: With unarmed weapons. Value: About 20% more than a power fist for the YG version and 30% more than FoR for the Deathclaw version. Not too expensive for the former (at least), yet either can get you through the game if you're playing an unarmed-specced character. Durability: Give both items 30% more item HP than their vanilla counterparts because of the power armor forearm guards. Perks: Give both the full suite of unarmed/melee perk benefits, Super Slam and all. Holdout weapons: Make them improved holdouts. If anyone can cobble this together in Blender/NifSkope/GECK, that'd be appreciated. The Yao Guai glove alone would be awesome for role-playing as a Sorrow (which my last playthrough was, via a race mod). I think both this and the Deathclaw gauntlet would be pure upgrades over SE and FoR thanks to the EMP damage and glowing claws. ADDENDUM: Not only should these weapons glow like the protonic axes, but they should also be usable with poisons just like the Shishkebab/Gehenna. EMP damage AND poison on a robot, Brotherhood Paladin, or NCR heavy trooper? Yes, please! ADDENDUM II: Just had an idea for making this part of a side quest in Honest Hearts where a New Canaanite NPC could spawn in the Sorrows camp and give you a schematic for the EMP Yao Guai fist after doing Rite of Passage. Pass a Science or Unarmed check of 40 to get it. Same with the EMP Deathclaw gauntlet; after getting the FoR during Lonesome Road, you should find a schematic in the footlocker near the Canyon Wreckage upon returning to the Mojave.
  20. I just got Skyrim and I'd love to see this. Same goes for a mod that turns the Greybeards into Ugandan Knuckles. Show me da wae, my bruddah! Protect da Queen!
  21. I've been using a mix of throwing spears and proton throwing axes, and I thought to myself: Why not make a throwing spear that does EMP damage? Think a mix of the above but in spear form and you wouldn't be far off. Imagine some raider, tribal, or Legionary destroying someone in power armor with this--awesome! Ditto a melee form of these spears. I'm thinking these should do about 10 more damage than the clean knife spears from Dead Money, but with EMP damage. Imagine a proton axe but with a glowing spearhead instead of an axe blade. And it should do about as much damage as the proton axe. Make both types of spears craftable, too. I think 1 throwing spear or knife spear, 3 knives or cosmic knives, 1 conductor, and 1 fission battery sounds about right. And inversal versions doing a bit more damage would also be nice. Repair the two-handed version with all the spears and axes (all two-handed melee weapons with Jury Rigging) and you're good. Put one two-handed spear and a cache of throwing spears in that home of all weapon and armor mods, Doc Mitchell's house; and more caches in Big MT, Zion, Hidden Valley, and all the major vendors (Gun Runners, Mick, etc.). I'd say we're looking at assets from Dead Money and Old World Blues for this.
  22. I'd have liked to see ending slides showing what happens to the Omertas, White Gloves, Phebuses, Gundersons, and even what happens to the NCR and Legion after Hoover Dam if you side with Mr. House or Yes Man. Does Kimball get thrown out of office? Does NCR try to retaliate after licking its wounds if you aid House or go independent? Does Oliver off himself or leave military life and retire? Does Lanius get the Joshua Graham treatment upon reporting back to Caesar if you talk him down? And if you go independent AND did all the DLCs, what of the technology from Big Mountain and the Sierra Madre? Does the Courier use that to rebuild the Mojave? What about trade with the Mormons in Utah? What of the Divide? So many possibilities depending on your choices in the game.
  23. Before playing FNV, I had played the s#*! out of Oblivion. I started this very account just for the mods and kept playing Oblivion because there were so many mods for it. I actually broke the mod limit once. This was in 2011; at the time, I had worked at a major bar and grill chain and we FOH staff would clean a few mornings a week. After I had finished my cleaning duties for the day (I was off the rest of the day), I went to GameStop and noticed FNV on a shelf. I thought to myself, "This can't be THAT removed from Oblivion; they were both made using the same engine." From a purely technical standpoint, I wasn't wrong. But I was in for a new experience when I installed Steam and the game. I played for a while with just the base game; didn't get the DLCs til much later. I stopped playing after Valve made Team Fortress 2 free and only in the last two years have I picked FNV back up. I've downloaded my share of mods and even requested an armor mod in the mod request folder; would like to learn to make my own as well. The different ways to end the game (DLCs and all), different possible builds, and mods keep me coming back for more. I'm still on the same character I've been playing since July because I've been putting lots of thought into this playthrough, hoping to make it one of my best. Eight years later, people are still playing, modding, and debating about this game; I'd say that says Obsidian did a great job.
  24. My first playthrough and most of my others, I've sided with Yes Man and gone independent. The NCR has its capitalist corruption and rolls over people, even if they don't outright enslave them. The Legion condones slaves and treats women like brood mares for the state while condemning all Pre-War technology despite many of its soldiers using guns. Mr. House has his technology and knowledge going for him but he's still a rich despot who kicked the inhabitants of Vault 21 out of their home and forced everyone who wasn't the Three Families into Freeside and elsewhere. The Legion is outright fascist while the NCR has all the same problems of the Pre-War U.S. government. I like to string all the factions along, then throw them under the bus and install Yes Man. My Courier has put far more thought into the state of Vegas and the Mojave than Kimball, Caesar, or House ever did. In the wider scheme of things, the NCR would win even if they lost Vegas to Mr. House or the Courier. They have far better technology and infrastructure than the Legion. They don't have any problems using Pre-War technology and even improving on it. They don't make slaves out of half their workforce. They don't have that Handmaid's Tale s#*! going on like the Legion does. The Legion shoots themselves in the foot by rejecting Pre-War tech and medicine, but they're hypocrites because many of the Legionaries use guns and Caesar has an Auto-Doc in his tent. He's a complete moron by wanting to destroy the Securitron Army; a wiser general would use those robots to take the dam and hold it. Both sides have overexpanded but the NCR has geography going for them because they have nowhere to push but east. The Legion's push west would result in fewer and fewer tribes to conquer while losing their holdings in the Four Corners states. Remember that the Legion doesn't have the longevity that the IRL Roman Empire has. The Roman Empire lasted from Caesar Augustus in 27 BCE to the sacking of Constantinople in 1453. This doesn't include the Etruscan kingdoms or Roman Republic before it, just the imperial government. And yes, I said 1453 because the so-called "Byzantine Empire" was really the Roman Empire even if they were culturally more Greek than Latin by the end. They never called themselves "Byzantines" or even Greeks but identified as Romans. The Legion has only been around for a few decades by the time of New Vegas's story. Many of its soldiers and slaves were pressed into the Legion as teens or adults. That means those people have memories of the tribes and vaults they came from. And speaking of adults, Caesar himself is already in his late fifties by the time of the game's storyline and obviously, he's not going to be around forever. What happens when he's gone? Lanius takes over, and he'll be even worse than Caesar. Meanwhile, the tribes will likely recover their old identities and revolt. Even if Lanius could hold most of the Legion together through fear, he's still as good of a politician as Olive Garden is authentic Italian food. He's like Mao Zedong--a good general but a shitty head of government. Between the NCR and Legion alone, the NCR would win the war; having Mr. House or the Courier rule New Vegas as a buffer state would give the NCR less of an eastern border to defend.
