majikmonkee
I've been playing Oblivion for a few years now, but most of that time was spent on my friend's PS3, I just purchased the PC version a few months ago though so I'm rather new to the mod community. Of the mods I've played and completed so far, I find myself most drawn to the big quest type that puts the player in search of a specific artifact or sets of artifacts in the vein of National Treasure or Raiders of the Lost Ark. The two most recent mods I've played were The Lost Spires and Heart of the Dead, both of which were really fantastic. I've tried doing some more research on my own for more mods of this type, but based on the descriptions I find, nothing else has caught my interest. Any suggestions? Something companion friendly would be nice if possible, I have several companions from different mods just sitting around waiting for me to find something to do, and it seems like I've exhausted the vanilla Oblivion content. =/
Nealus
This isn't epic mod with much of fighting and epic dungeons. It's pretty little, but it was interesting for me, so try it out.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12251
majikmonkee
The description sounds pretty interesting. I'll definitely put that one on my short list of mods to check out. After completing all the guild quests and "official" main quest content, less fighting isn't necessarily a bad thing (I would have probably enjoyed Heart of the Dead and Lost Spires even more if there had been less combat). There are also several other Treasure Map mods (I think it was a series) than just Meridia's.
Nealus
Yes, how I forgot about Ayleid Steps - it's really awesome mod.
majikmonkee
Man this does sound cool although I see it mentions that four letter word...OBSE...
Smooth613
Man this does sound cool although I see it mentions that four letter word...OBSE...And what's wrong with OBSE? I don't see how anyone could get by without OBSE at this stage of Oblivion's life. I know I would lose functionality for about 60-65% of my mods if I removed OBSE, since many top notch mods utilize it. Sure there are some excellent mods out there that don't use OBSE but many of the best mods require it. I see no reason not to use it, even if only for a handful of mods. For example; All Natural and Enhanced Hotkeys are mods I couldn't play without nowadays. Best weather and hotkey mods out there, hands down. I could list many more of my "can't play without mods" but that's a different topic... But why would you not use OBSE is the question?
majikmonkee
Well nothing is wrong with it, it just slows my pc severely despite lots of helpful folks trying to help me troubleshoot it. Ironically most mods I've been attracted to thus far don't use it.
Smooth613
That's pretty odd that adding some extended script functions would slow your PC down to a crawl. Seems like something else is going on behind the scenes that's causing these issues. Very odd indeed.
majikmonkee
Yeah and I'm not tech savvy enough anymore to figure it out just from what I've read or been told.
