majikmonkee
Here's what I've done to add new life to the game...I would have posted this sooner, but it was just a recent idea (note - this idea does not require mods, but benefits from the "Alive Waters" mod)... The people of Cyrodiil speak in hushed tones of a ghastly creature that lurks below the waves, a savage that dwells not within the forests, but in the murky depths. This beast spends it's days scouring the floors of rivers and bays, claiming what sunken treasure catches it's pale eyes, while hunting and feeding upon the abundant marine life of Cyrodiil. Rumor has it, however, that eventually, the need arises for the creature to feed upon the blood of men...and when it does, under the cover of darkness, few if any witness it's presence, alerted only after the fact by the stench of the murky depths lingering behind in the air when they awake... http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f162/majikmonkee1975/merman.jpgBasically, the idea I came up with was to capitalize on one of my favorite aspects of Oblivion, underwater exploration. Meet "Mer-Man", a vampirism afflicted Argonian. Mer-Man ordinarily wears no clothing save for the default loincloth, carries only what weapons he finds scattered about underwater (he never repairs them, if broken, he discards a weapon and looks for a new one), and avoids surfacing at all costs. Although I don't use any "realistic hunger" mod, I do make a point to have Mer-Man kill crabs and fish with non-harmful ingredient drops and eat them to benefit from the effects. He uses only three spells to benefit his underwater exploration - heal minor wounds, starlight (to help see), and hunter's sight, most useful in the murkiest depths, or when being pursued by unseen predators. Thus far, Mer-Man has had no need to mingle with the people of Cyrodiil, although he does carry a full set of hunter's clothing in case the need ever arises to "blend in". He's makes use of the Imperial Waterfront most frequently when it's time to satisfy his vampiric cravings, and has been known to use the abandoned shack when the need arises to sleep (which he rarely does). So far, it's been great, non-productive fun! Highly recommended!
