majikmonkee
I don't know if anyone has played this mod recently enough to answer this, but there is a companion NPC in this mod named Kat, and I'm trying to determine what race she is in the construction set. She tells you in the game she is a "half elf", but we all know there is no such thing by default in Oblivion. She has a user made voice over so I can't identify her race based on her voice, and her hairstyle prevents seeing if she has pointy ears or not. I can't find her in the construction set, and believe me, I've looked. The reason I'm so determined to find out her race is because she seems to be "immune" to some of the mods I've downloaded, and I got to thinking that maybe it's because she's not of a standard vanilla Oblivion race and the mods aren't designed to apply to her. Any help would be great. =D
Zetsuboketti
I don't have HoD installed right now so I don't know the name of the main esp file. Whatever its name, load into the construction set and open up the race menu. As you have likely noticed all the races "native" to oblivion and any added by the mod(s) currently loaded are listed. What you might not be able to see is that any race that was added or edited by a mod will have an asterisk at the end of its name. If you can't see the asterisk then you probably have to extend the first column until you can see it. I don't remember if this mod does it or not, but some mods will make a custom race for males and a separate race for females, and a few mods have separate races for any added NPCs. You can check the name to see if it gives any clues or just look at the FaceGen section of the race menu. Now, if you look in the object window, under actors->npc, you can look for the races added by the mod(s) that you've found in the race window. One of the characters should have "Kat" [if that's the name the modder has given her] listed under "Name". Finally, after saying all that, if you have other mods that should act or that you want to act on Kat then you might have to load her mod above/earlier than the other mod(s) so that they might modify her race and her. Hope this helps, good luck. [wrong verb :wallbash:] Edited November 21, 2010 by Zetsubo Ketti
majikmonkee
It sounds helpful, thanks. I'll try it when I get home. I do know the mod used the mystic elf race and some effeminate model for its vampires, so I suppose Kat may actually be a unique race. She's shorter than imperials and bretons but doesn't have very elf-like features. I'll check it out.
majikmonkee
An unrelated issue I have with the same companion is when I talk to her and only with here, my FPS drops greatly and my mouse pointer becomes slow and less responsive. Other characters from the same mod work without issue. Any ideas?
