What do you think of this playthrough Idea?

This is something I would like to TRY:: as in I may just give up part way through because i'm not man enough :P. And I am hoping this will make the game much more in-depth for me. While I have beaten Fallout 3 before, I would like to focus a lot more on travel, exploration and general survivability out in the wasteland, not just a "Go here, Do this, Find your dad" sort of thing. I want to be "living in the wasteland, not being out there for 6 full days and finding my dad. So here is a small list, let me know if you know of any mods that can fix them, remove them, or just suggestions you have::

::

  1. ::No Fast Travel -- I would like to try to find a mod that allows me to find people who can give me those services for a fee, or even my own Fallout 3 style vehicle.

  2. ::Needing to eat and drink -- This I know comes with FWE, so this I should be fine with

  3. ::Avoid using the "Wait" option -- I understand it's just to make stuff go by quicker, but I might as well. I will still use sleep however.

  4. ::Cross-repair -- I would like to beable to repair guns and armor, with other materials. Like scrap metal for assault rifles, wooden objects for stuff like bats, etc. (Any mod for this?)

  5. ::I would like a more realistic "explosion" mod. Grenades don't seem to do much radius wise, and increasing general explosion radius turn cars into nuclear bombs waiting to be blown up.

  6. ::I would like more weapon and armors, and I know FWE provides these -- however based on screenshots they look like modern day weapons which really frustrates me. But Im stuck with them.

  7. ::Maybe having the ability to purchase and//or find backpacks (I don't wanna just START with an amazing one. But maybe one I had in the vault I take with me, lets me carry an extra 5-10wg, and then I can buy better ones later on. (any mods for this, or does FWE come with this?)

  8. ::I wouldn't mind having a "sleeping bag" to throw up when i'm on my travels. While I should be able to find suitable shelter out there in the wastes from time to time, sometimes I'm just gonna have to grin and bear it. (any mods for this, or does FWE come with this?)

  9. ::I was hoping for a mod which turns my companions into more "survivable" people which would make them just go "unconscious", and they'd stay that way until I used a certain item, or expended a lot of time waiting for them to recover and get better. Anyone know of any mods for this? Because i'd like to not have to rely on Fawkes to be my only companion who doesn't just go die (:

  10. ::Was also hoping for a mod which adds more... I don't know, wastelanders or just general travelling NPCs out in the wastes, so I don't feel like the only life out there is trying to kill me and harvest my organs. Anything for this?

  11. ::Related to the above idea. Maybe more caravans. It would be nice to have the option, depending on my karma, to do business more often or just try to jack some easy supplies. Any mods for this? More guards protecting these would be a plus to.

  12. ::I'd like some more realistic damage, and FWE also seems to offer it.

  13. ::I wouldn't mind a mod that let's me wear "regular clothing" over my armor and such, so I could look kinda cool and still be protected.

  14. ::I'm open for any suggestions and am wondering what mods you guys can suggest for any of the above!

Just a couple of ideas:

For non-teleport fast travel you could try the Hoverchair..

Modded companions (as opposed to the vanilla ones) are usually set essential and can't be killed. Lots of people like Kelsey, but there are plenty of others. Kelsey, incidentally, carries a roll-up bed for the player to use anywhere, anytime, and even lays it out for you when asked..

I have seen a mod for every single thing you mentioned there. I've only been playing the game for a week and spent about an hour today looking through all the mods at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php.

Click on the division you think your desired mod would be in on that page I linked, and in the sort box up at the top click on "downloads" in the first drop down box and "descending" in the second drop down box, so that the most popular mod with the most downloads is listed at the top of page one, followed by the mod with the second most downloads, followed by third most downloads, and so on and so fourth. All the mods you say you want will be in the first few pages of each category there as they are all popular, I'm not exaggerating, I saw a mod for every single thing you want.

Hope that helps.

I also wanted more weapons, so I downloaded 19th and 20th century weapons pack, which is the most popular mod in the "Weapons" category, and it's good, but the problem I have with it is that the weapon textures all look like they're in pristine condition, just came out of a factory, never even been taken out of the box. For me this just doesn't fit in with the game. The whole world is wrecked and everything around you is an improvised piece of crap made from pieces of crap that people found laying around after a nuclear holocaust, yet everybody is running around with shiny, perfect weapons that don't even have a scratch on them. It doesn't work for me. The mod is great in that it adds so many new weapons, must be at least 150 new guns, from pistols to rifles to machine guns to grenade launchers and everything inbetween, but they're too clean and shiny looking.
