Clarification on Adding new bodies to Oblivion

I am just checking if anyone has found a way for a new race to use unique body meshes. It appears (to me at least) that only one set of body meshes are applied to all races, and my searches here resulted in the same conclusion. Even when looking at races in tesdit4 and such tools there doesn't appear to be anyway of attaching unique body data to a race. Sooo that brings me back to the question, is it thoroughly impossible to use unique body meshes for each race, or has anyone discovered a workaround to this yet?

of course you can do it

when you make a new race, if you enter the Body Data, there are boxes for the models for the body parts (upper, lower, hands, feet, and optional tail)

so if you have made custom models, you can enter them into these boxes, and your race will use these special models

if you want a tutorial on race making, look here

Actually, you can't asign new body models on CS, except tail. What you can assign is textures.

Thanks for the replies. I had sort of assumed that was the case from glancing over the TES4 construction set (I modded my Morrowind and Fallout 3 extensively, just never oblivion) but just wondered if perhaps I was missing something. It sort of makes sense though, as there seems to be no persistent body mesh. I mean the upper and lower body mesh is defined by the gear you have equipped in those slots, if I am not mistaken. So I suppose the only way to say, have Morrowind style beast legs would be to make it be part of the pants worn then add bones and motion constraints to the base skeleton for them to be rigged to. Not impossible, just perhaps a touch bigger project then I am up to at the moment. Maybe if my schedule clears up I may take a crack at it, but for the moment thanks for the clarification guys!
