Abramul
One I forgot about: I was in some fort or another, and while crossing a bridge, noticed a Daedroth in the room below. I started shooting arrows or casting spells at it. After a while of this, it was suddenly on the bridge beside me...not sure if it jumped up, or did the teleporting thing that guards do. Sypron
Woah, stupid oblivion moments, wher eto start? I could fill up a whole page with tales of my idiocy! The first probably came when installing oblivion. before it came out, i had a 6 yr old rig, so i don't play new games to often, even morrowind didn't work properly. So i bought my new pc, and oblivion, installed it, tried to play but "RANDOM ERROR!!!!" Turns out you need to restart your computer nowdays, i'm a moron. Now onto the game, first and formost, the white gold tower: apparently jumping from the top is not a good idea. Even after my dumner hit the pavement i got no sympathy from the locals, the guard walked up to my corpse and asked me to keep my voice down. I'd like to see him not screen at terminal velocity. well, i've gotta sleep now, so i'll make more tommorow.
PaulEmil
Getting stuck between some rocks in a waterfall. Unable to run, climb, or even jump out of the hole, I reloaded the game from a previous save-point and avoided the waterfall... ...this was before I realized that, since I was outdoors, I could have broken the impasse by fast-traveling somewhere else. Happened to me in one of the Oblivion gates. 'tcl' is your friend. I spent an age struggling up the mountain to Dive Rock to find you know who. The phone rang. I forgot to pause the game and ... guess! Aargh! Nasty! I saw that thing for myself. My own stupid moment was backpeddaling away from a bandit while firing arrows. Went over a cliff...
chrisdragon425
Doing Boethia's quest and having several of the Chosen fall to their doom into the lava below.
tmx
beat the game, 80 hours, harddrive corrupted due to stupidly installing windows2k. another 50 hours, backup save games for reformat hd, and then accidently deleted the save games anyway (and empty recycled bin). cant data recovery with a RAID0 array. I found it weird when i was in the Thieves guild and i wanted to fence some of my stuff. I was in leyawiin and i went to see Dar Jee. I was a khajiit and he was telling me about Khajiit jokeshahahaha, i was just talking about this in another thread.
Landsknecht
Not so much stupidity, but funny to watch. I ran into two vampires at the same time from the Azura quest. My character, not being able to take both of them, I ran outside so that I would have mobility against them. Well, I kill one, severely damage another, before it killed me, causing my character to tumble down the mountain. That situation was the reason I downloaded the extended death camera. Still waiting for that to happen again...what can you do sometimes?
Guest Tessera
Still waiting for that to happen again...what can you do sometimes? LOL... yah, I share your pain. I've learned to compensate for situations like that with my handy "Summon Daedroth" spell... "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND..!!!" I know some people view summoning as being somehow "cheap," but that mutha hits hard as hell and makes an excellent meatshield for my cute little elf. I get a lotta mileage outta her summoned Daedroths... especially on the hardest difficulty, but only if there's room for them. They just don't work in cramped quarters (they're huge). :D

But judging from my experience on the recieving end of Daedroth's (not summoned just as enemies), "that mutha hits hard as hell" is an understatement. When I leveled up my first character to the point where they started appearing, well, nothing ruins your day more than going into a portal a meeting two right off the bat. The size was also an issue with that same character when I decided to put off the recapturing Castle Kvatch quest. A daedroth, and couple frost antronachs take up a lot of room in the undercroft, especially with those guards. I guess waiting to do that quest with my first character could be classified as a "stupid moment" as well.
dreth
Mine would be when I had killed a few shop owners in the Market District and was running from guards. I went to the arena and jumped up to the highest area you can around it to hide. About ten guards had followed me and were trying to get to me. I got bored and went to have some food and watch tv. When I came back I realized I hadn't paused the game!! ALL THE GUARDS WERE DEAD!!!!!!!! My bounty was over 15000. All I can guess is that one guard hit another so they fought then others joined in and sone they all were stone cold. In the end I had to pay for some retarded guards killing eachother :glare: ! Better AI my...
Yndifall
My stupidest moment isn't to do with the actual game but what happened to mine. I just set up my xbox 360 it was a bit squint, and when I was halfway through a quest a message appeared saying, make your your disc isn't dirty or damaged, then the game stopped. I took the disc it to have a look at it and it had a huge scratch right the way around the disc. Now I need to buy another copy of Oblivion.
