Trigoras
A very good guide a community member made is located at: http://www.wix.com/xxtodayxx/oblivion-visual-overhaulThat covers a lot of aspects of a great looking game, many people use the Oblivion Graphics Extender to add different shaders for extra effects. There are also sky replacers/enhancers, there are just too many to list, but I personally use "Real Night Sky" which looks very nice.If you actually plan on seeing lava there is a replacer called "Real Lava" on TESNexus, which has a very good quality, but some choose not to use it as you rarely see lava anyway. If you can live without seeing water ripples around your character the mod "Water_Reflection_Blur" at http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23372 makes reflections looks MUCH better than before. Character-wise, Robert's male body is the most popular to increase the male textures, it has a nude version but that is just optional, and the same goes for female body replacers. If you care about the textures of non-human races you can look at http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7930 & http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6611 to replace the Khajiit and Argonian face textures which work well with the body replacers. Hope this helps :)
majikmonkee
I used to envy console players the fact that they could expect the best visuals without having to do any tweaking, but after doing a stint on the PS3 then moving to console, the idea of being stuck with just the official content and expansions and no console to unstick your character or fix other snnoying glitches is terrifying. I only play with medium settings, but it's still a darn fine looking game.
