Going to make an ammunition expansion mod

I'm making a mod that will basically allow you to make some really cool ammo variants with Reloading Benches if you can find the right ingredients and want some ideas for ammo types. Here are some I have already:

 

-Shotgun flak round: Basically slug rounds but with a small explosive charge, creates a small explosion on impact.

-EMP rounds: Not sure what ammo type yet, but will create a burst of EMP on hit. Useful for those who aren't skilled with Energy Weapons faced against robots.

-Energy grenades: For use with 40mm launcher, will explode in a burst of energy.

-Plasma nukes: Mininuke with the warhead replaced by an amount of plasma.

-Sedative darts: For .308 rifles, these potent darts knock out your target for a period of time. Useful for sneaky characters with a conscience.

-Dragon's Breath: A round using some incendiary ingredients will engulf anything within 20 meters of the barrel in flames.

 

Any ideas are appreciated :biggrin:

That's an excellent idea. Would be useful for .308 guns, like the Hunting Rifle, give it sedative rounds and the scope and you could really implement some strategy. And if you were being sneaky, take out a guy standing in your way with it, run past him, and then he'll wake up without knowing what happened :tongue:

 

On a sidenote, is it possible to swap out the texture of a weapon for a different one on ammo swap? It would help a great deal to know.

For ingredients it would be cool to use things as NukaCola Quartz for a sort of ammo. I don't know what kind of effect it could do but it would require like:

- 1 Nuke Cola Quartz

- A quantity of other, less rare items

 

But will give you a fairly big amount of ammo to counter the fact Quartz is kinda rare.

Could make Glowing, solid ammo for example.

It's just an idea after all.

 

Or you could add an item people would find somewhere in a quest or something wich would be: The Finger Cutter

It would make you able to cut off the fingers of your human and ghoulish victims.

And those fingers could be transformed into flesh bullets! Exploding on impact (being composed of some real Exploding Powder AND fingers)

That would be good against a no-armor opponent but poor against armor.

It could make a big red spot on the guy (bigger than the basic one)

Don't know if it's possible.

High Explosive rounds

Flak shells

40mm grenade shotgun rounds (maybe just make them fire shotgun projectiles but instead of 7 projectiles make it like 20?)

Acid rounds

Poison rounds

Incendiary rounds (ones that actually do good fire damage)

Tungsten rounds (for robots, and extra piercing)

Titanium rounds (for extra armor piercing)

Radio-active rounds

Nuke-rounds (very small nuke explosion)

High-Power rounds (more damage without having to go hollow point)

Jacketed Sniper rounds (for those extra tough, heavily armored enemies, maybe give them -30 DT?)

 

Dart gun types:

 

Explosive

Incendiary

Poison

 

Except the dart gun kind do not have ballistic damage, instead they just contain liquid that does it.

Hmmm, good point, make those too. Just titanium flies faster I believe, and tungsten has something special about it, I can't remember what.

 

-And maybe some Fletchet shells too?

I'm not doing Tungsten rounds, Tungsten is basically just armor piercing. I will probably rename some ammo types to be more realistic, like instead of having just "AP Rounds" they will be either "Tungsten Rounds" or "FMJ Rounds". Probably FMJ because Tungsten came into service after the FO timeline and ours splits up.

Just had another idea that I can't believe I forgot: I NEED to put in Dragon's Breath for shotties. I'm fine on how to do it, but what should the recipe be? I'm thinking:

 

-Shotgun hull

-Shotgun primer

-Lead

-Flamer fuel

 

Either way it will be awesome.

 

EDIT: Just tried out Dragon's Breath rounds. They are seriously awesome. Pretty much like a beefed-up version of an incinerator but not as huge blast radius. A teaser shot:
