JamesAfloat Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) This is a follow-up on my previous post. For several days now the Quest Window on the GECK refuses to acknowledge the existence of dialogue topics or conditions. Despite me opening quests that are actually full of dialogue topics with conditions, no conditions or dialogue topics appear at all. And though I can right-click on the box and technically "Add a topic" it doesn't appear. It's not as if they're invisible either. Here is a screenshot So far I have tried several fixes: uninstalling a few supplementary new vegas programs, cleaning out the Fallout New Vegas source and data folders, trying it one billion times, and reinstalling New Vegas completely. Nothing has worked. So far I have seen no other posts dealing with this same issue, and am basically at my wit's end. Thanks for your help. JamesAfoat Edited March 16, 2015 by JamesAfloat
Fallout2AM Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 If it's what I think, it is a lil "problem" with Windows 8, where topics are still there but they are hidden on the left. I know people drag columns in some way and make them appear again, but I don't have windows 8 so I can't tell you exactly. This guy writes more in detail which update in windows 8 caused it.
JamesAfloat Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 Cool. For anyone else with this problem, it got FIXED for me by uninstalling a WIndows Update done on 13/3/15. Thanks for your help!

I google this fix 6hours yesterday.. uninstall, install reinstall.. and so long..and ... here it is : It's true, problem is that everytime you will find the same situation again and again and you must drag again the column.3 persons solved definetely uninstalling that update for windows. Another person said that removing that update didn't change anything.
JoKelly Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) If I'm understanding your problem, its caused by a windows update in both win 8 and 10. just hold the mouse over the top bar of both the topic and conditions box wait till it changes to the expand and move icon click and drag to the right. mindboggles Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Supposedly pulling the update out of 8 fixes it but unfortunately it's locked in with 10 so you have to learn to live with it.
Gawdzilla Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 Click in the box and tap <ctrl> and <+> in the numpad, it opens the columns to where things are visible.
dubiousintent Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 The "GECK Extender" includes "Optional fix for Windows 8/10 not displaying conditions correctly, enable via ini setting", along with many other engine level fixes. Recommended. -Dubious-
