Idea for the next Fallout

Some great ideas in that plot. The character generation is brilliant but I'd put some presets in for the first time players who Are! going to screw it up. Why wouldn't your Tribals have moved south? Having survived the great war in the isolation of the Great Canadian shield but now forced migrate to escape from some threat. That gives you any number of peoples from the Hurons upward to the Aluits.

Final suggestion have you read Last of the Mohicans recently? Yea it's silly, Hawkeye can hunt flies at 200 paces with a musket after running for 48 straight hours but the politics of the story is interesting. And of course the French who in this context could be militant or hegemonizing Quebecquoi. . . Which gives you a new fraction to play with.

Great idea, sounds a bit too similar to Fallout 1 plot though, should be a mod or something although this would takes ages!

Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry this is a bit of a necro-thread; however, I just wanted to reply to some of the feedback.

1. The similarities to Fallout 1 were really unintentional. Only now that I've stepped back from the ideas do I see the connections. That said, I feel as if the fact that this game is centered around an overseer whose purpose is to find a new home for his people is rather different a game where you're a simple dweller looking to fix a machine in the vault. The whole experience would be centered more around the competing factions than the Vault as well. Also, there wouldn't be any Master-type person in the game, there would be no similarity whatsoever to the second half of Fallout 1.

2. The Natives who opened the armory are called savages, because that is what the Vault Dwellers see them to be. In reality, the savages have access to some prewar technology, including explosives. Also, the Springfield Armory Tribe would obviously have access to explosives of some kind.

3. I was going for a sort of Last of the Mohicans type feel with this. I wanted it to be Fallout and Post-Apocalyptic, but in a region unexplored, full of terror and a wasteland full of shriveled trees and swamps, rather than sand. The desperation would come with the fact that outside of the urban centres like New Salem where the GECK enhanced community has plenty of resources, there isn't much to go around, so the odd rest-stop or country store would be a valuable scavenging point.

4. EDIT: This hasn't been brought up; however, the Centurions aren't supposed to be like Caesar's Legion at all. Since they are Protestant, they do not speak Latin, nor are they their own society. They are simply soldiers for the Puritans. They speak English and have regular English names (well, regular Puritan names, like 'Jonathan Blackwell' or 'Edward Smythe' or other suitable English names). If anything, they're more like the knights Templar. Their only information about the Romans comes from the Bible, so they don't act Roman at all. Instead, they are very Christian, somewhat like Crusaders. Their existence is also supposed to be ironic, since they don't really fit in with Puritan ideals.
