wurth
Somebody really needs to make a lot mot revolvers. Thats what I would have used in a post-apocalyptic wasteland anyway, you don't need to find magazines for that just bullets. Its more practical, and revolvers are awesome right? Moraelin
Well, I can't comment about the awesomeness, as that's a matter of personal taste. But you do know that magazines can be reloaded with new rounds, right? :P

UttaNutta
Well, revolvers are not that fast either. I would prefer a magazine. Edited November 28, 2010 by UttaNutta

So, its faster to load bullets into a cylinder individually, vice popping in a new magazine and dropping the slide forward. Right.

What I meant was, I think I was unclear, You need to FIND an extra magazine in order to "POP" the magazine in right? Or was it taped to the side of the gun when you found it? If you find ONE pistol with ONE magazine. What happens if you ahve to reload that ONE magazine during combat? (IN REAL LIFE) It takes a heck of a lot of time. If you find a revolver all you have to do is find ammunition and you're good to go. No need to find an extra magazine to speed up the process... Think of real damn life not a computer game where people have magically gotten a hold of extra magazines as they buy ammo from vendors. Right If you don't at least swallow your pride and admit you're wrong I pity you.
wurth
Alright. Let put it this way. Here's a list of the advantages and disadvantages of pistols and revolvers. Again i'm talking about real life. PISTOLS+ Bigger magazineLight and CompactMore safety featuresEasy to pull the trigger PISTOLS- You need extra magazines (if you want to reload during combat)Requires more maintenanceComplex (can be hard for beginners)"Jamming" Relys on the first round being fired, if it does not fire (for some reason) the gun jams. REVOLVERS+ Requires little maintenanceEasy to use (for beginners)Easy to reload. (especially with speedloaders)Reliable (If one round doesnt fire you can just keep on pulling the trigger until the next round does.)(Not sure if this goes in here, but the double-action revolver is much more common in the USA for example, thus having more ammo available.) REVOLVER- Only 5-6 roundsBulkyHarder to pull the trigger ( IF IT IS A DOUBLE ACTION)Less safety Basically, if you are a beginner at firearms you want to go for the revolver. More reliable and easier to use. While hunting for example, those that go out with a semi-automatic as protection in the woods (from bears and such) isnt very smart. Unless you use a Desert Eagle .50AE That might stop a bear. But if you have a grizzly charging you a 9mm semi automatic or even a .40 won't do s*** against it. If you carry a Magnum .44 or sometimes even a .357 you're going to go home at the end of the day by your self and not in a body bag.
