majikmonkee
Same drill as usual...I did some looking for something fitting this description but not much luck. I think it would be cool to have a "kit" of items designed to more easily take down vampires. After all, your truly prepared vampire hunter won't just go running into a vampire den with your every day sword and shield. Here were some thoughts I had: - oak stake or holy dagger: basically just a dagger like weapon that is strong against vampires but unimpressive against other types of enemies. - holy water: looks like a poison, applied to a weapon for a single hit, sort of like turpentine on the painted trolls - holy symbol: used as a shield that reflects damage on vampires if they hit you while wielding it (granted you would still take some damage yourself). similar to how crosses work in vampire lore, but the cross is a Christian symbol, and Oblivion uses the Nine Divines, so it should probably be a more appropriate symbol. - offensive garlic: similar to regular garlic, but if you drop it and a vampire runs over it (or gets too close), he will take damage similar to sun damage. - vampire hunter's coat: looks like a duster or ranger coat, but with a unique enchantment that actually resists the vampire disease (I know normal resist disease does not). It's always bothered me that vampires have to be dealt with basically the same as all other enemies, I think it would be fun to have some unique tools to spice things up a bit. I'd suggest having things like this be available from the priests in the various chapels, due to the blessed aspect of some of them.
MidbossVyers
Well, the garlic thing is actually just the smell. Because a vampire's nose is super sensitive for smelling out blood, something with a strong smell, like garlic, will repel it. Nothing magical or holy, just sensitive. majikmonkee
Yeah, I know, I just couldn't think of a good way to implement waving it in their faces.
MidbossVyers
Demoralize, as opposed to damage.
majikmonkee
There you go...that would make much more sense, I agree.
MidbossVyers
How about Hydro Storm and Grand Cross spells?
majikmonkee
How about Hydro Storm and Grand Cross spells?I'd been trying to think of some spells for those mage oriented hunters. A sunlight spell that caused sun damage would be useful too.

MidbossVyers
Vampire Killer whip? Functioning on the same non-existent one-handed Marksman weapon system as a spear. Also, if you're looking for Vampire Hunter coats, type in Vampire Hunter on the TESNexus search, and you'll find various long coats and short coats tailored to your needs.
