2h Holster animation

Hi I was wondering if someone could make a mod editing the 2h rifle animation so that it would fit alongside a backpack,

But if you want your firearm to look like the pic, your talking about at least two components. I can't help with the animation, and unfortunately we almost never see requests for character animations fulfilled :sad:

 

But if you don't already have a solution for the second component, which is where the weapon is holstered, I *may* be able to help with that. I was working on a request for front worn rifles, and I do have a cheap hack that I think could work. I got a bit distracted on other projects (haven't had a chance to work on it), so I can't say if ultimately it will pan out, or another solution will be more viable.

 

A related mod you might find useful is Displaying multiple weapons on your PC, which would allow wearing the rifle as per your pic when it was in inventory, but not actively equipped. I can rig a weapon (as a armor addon) just about anywhere.

I don't mind that much if my character doesn't actually draw it from where it is holstered so I think you can help. Just so we're clear your saying you can change the position of the rifle and my character will (sort of) draw it from wherever you have moved the rifle to, and this will actually be an equipped rifle not a static object.

I can't alter the animation. 2haequip.kf is associated with that weapon type and the vanilla kf will draw a rifle from the butt over the right shoulder, whether the rifle is displayed there or somewhere else. I can't change that without a custom animation.

 

Just a note re: the animation;

 

 

If you could get a custom KF made it *might* be possible to write up a little NVSE script to disable (disableKey) your draw key (attack key), hook it by via isKeyPressed and force an animation (while re-enabling your attack key). This would allow you to have a specific drawing/holstering animation on a specific weapon or weapon type, without it being a replacer and affecting everyone with a human skeleton (ie all NPCs).

 

But no point in going too far down that road, unless you get very lucky and someone creates the animation for you.

 

 

What I *might* be able to help with, is where the weapon is displayed when holstered.

 

and this will actually be an equipped rifle not a static object.

It may be either an equipped rifle or a "fake" (armor/armor addon of the) rifle, but to the end user they will look and function the same. I can see advantages and disadvantages to both options, and since this is fairly esoteric stuff, I could run into a problem that turns out to be a real show stopper. I don't even know if I will have the time to give it a fair try, since it is pretty convoluted. But in principal, I think I have a few ideas that could work.

 

A key point here though, is making sure you don't impact anyone else (NPCs) using the weapon(s). Do you want this for one specific weapon or for all two handed rifles?

 

And as I mentioned in the previous post, if all of the above falls through, it's still possible to have a fake rifle rigged to teh spot your requesting (see the thread I mentioned above,

"Displaying multiple weapons on your PC") when the item is in your inventory but not actively equipped.
