Alixen
I've been playing around with character concepts (and how hidious male characters still look in FO) and ponderign which companion/s to brign with me in my games. One of the things I always felt missing from Fallout 3 (and Oblvion if we are talking Bethesda) was deeper companions. Obsidian have always been more Bioware-like in this regard and tend to make npcs deeper. And so they have. The companions in New Vegas are worlds more interesting than any found in FO3. I also like them for another reason though... they flirt with the main character, and do it better than the previous companions ("Can I do anything for you - or TO you?/Clover" and some of Butch's lines.) too. Things is, I find myself weighing up who I want my character to be with. My female characters are pretty much left out in the rain since I play them as straight for the most part, and Boone (Depressed and living in the past), Raul (Do I even need to explain?), and the Doc (He swings the other way) are all somewhat unattainable options. My male characters are better off, because we of course have Cass. As long as your not a 'Lady Killer' there is a chance at something more there from a roleplaying perspective. Veronica is a bit of a sad case because I love her personality; yet she'd be more interested in previous-female characters, or most likely Cass going by her comment if you ask her to 'move closer'. I've not really played been enough intot he game yet to form an 'ending' in my head for my characters. I actually misread the endings page of the NV Wikia and thought that Cass went off into the sunset after 'celebrating'; only a few minutes ago did I realise it only eant she left the room. If you kept the companiosn with you, did their quests, and such their fates are left pretty much open ended from what I read. I'd like to think Cass stayed around. I'd also like to think, for my female characters, that my Courier followed Boone on his happier endings. From a roleplaying perspective; what are YOUR characters relationships with the Companions? What happens AFTER the game for your Couriers and their companions? (Not counting the 'continue after the end' mod, even though i'll be usign it, since it basically is a return tot he status quo rather than an 'ending'.) Ubergrog
I gotta confess, for both the male and female characters, it has always been Cass. Veronica is great, but there is something about the no-nonsense, fierce attitude of Cass that i love :D
scannerfish
Raul and the Courier bro it up and drink all the liquor and beer in New Vegas. New Vegas would not have a full tap for the next month.
ita
My female character is nurturing the hope that Boone will overcome the death of his wife and be able to find some comfort in a poor lonely female courier's arms.. Would be a shame to let all that rugged manliness go to waste :whistling:
Yukichigai
My female character is nurturing the hope that Boone will overcome the death of his wife and be able to find some comfort in a poor lonely female courier's arms.. Would be a shame to let all that rugged manliness go to waste :whistling:Yeah, but have you seen him without his glasses? He looks like a bulldog that got hit in the face with a shovel. Actually I always pictured Boone running into Lt. Boyd and them hitting it off amazingly well. They both have the same kind of attitude and morals, I think. Really though, in terms of Courier-with-anybody prospects Cass seems the most open to the possibility. Hell, in one of her endings she even made the first move, although it ended up with her sleeping with a random NCR trooper instead. Everyone else is too caught up in their own drama to really be interested in the Courier I think. On a related note, I had hoped, after hearing Veronica's relationship history, that there would be some way to reunite her with her old flame. Maybe a DLC :P. Annnd here's an interesting pairing that occurs to me: Raul and Beatrix Russel. He could be the subservient Vaquero to her Dominant Cowgirl. Seems like an eerily appropriate match. ita
Yeah, but have you seen him without his glasses? He looks like a bulldog that got hit in the face with a shovel. I still prefer him over the run-of-the-mill Hollywood prettyboys you see in games these days. Besides, attraction is more than just good looks ;P Also, you're spot on about Raul and Beatrix.. he looks like could use some company in that little shack of his. secksegai
The two instances where my courier runs into a hint of romance: Meeting Joanna, but her lifestyle, addiction, and already loving someone make her less than an ideal partner. After turning in a lot of suits to Sarah and her instant affection and desire to sleep with my courier any time I visit. Oh, and Betsy hitting on my female couriers. RPwise, Cass seems like the only one with a remote possibility of an actual romantic relationship with the courier. Poor Ol' Cassidy, wonder what happened to him.
