Changing Neeshka's Appearance

Can anyone walk me through how to change Neeshka's appearance? I have the Construction Set downloaded, but haven't really used it before.

I went to File - Data, then double clicked on the Neeshka file. Then changed her to an Imperial, but don't know how to save it. Should I make that file active first, save it as a plugin? Not sure where to go after making the cosmetic changes.

Any help would be a big help. Thanks!

Ok, it seems I'm not out of the woods yet. When I quit my game, I have to go back into the CS, make the companion neeshka my active file again, and hit save in order for the different neeshka to be in the game.

Otherwise, if I don't do that, the original neeshka shows up when I continue my game.

Seems like I am missing something here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, here's what I have to do using Windows Vista. Not saying you'll have to do this step by step, but my security is a pain in the butt and I have to take great measures to get around it. This is how I changed the appearance of Ariana Trudeaux:

- I go into Program Files and find my Bethesda folder, then move the entire thing to my desktop (folders on the desktop are not protected, you may not need to do this)

- Open the CS and click the little folder that brings up a list of mods to load. Highlight the mod that adds Ariana and choose "Make active file".

- Locate the NPC, make the desired changes, then click the "save" button located under the sliders near where the character portrait appears.

- Close the edit window and click the little icon that looks like a disk near the top right of the screen to save your changes again.

- Move the Bethesda folder back into Program Files and launch the game.

I'm fairly new to the CS, but this I've done successfully with a few different NPC's. The most important thing to remember is just make sure your changes you save aren't being prevented by your Windows security settings, that was my big problem originally.

Instead of going through the hassle of shuffling files and folders around, plus other UAC interference with mods, why not just install Oblivion outside of Program Files? This guarantees you will have no UAC related issues. This would be the proper solution to the problem, instead of trying to band-aid it.
