Linden looks at the stranger. "Please help yourself to some porridge and tea."

Once he is settled, she walks over to Alenee and looks at the hole. "Do you think that he (nodding to Jouko) has anything to do with all of this?" she asks quietly.

"Personally, I do not trust him. He scurries around like a rat in the dark and does not answer our questions. Be that as it may, this hole is far to small for us to go down, much less explore, at this time. Why don't we scout around the area and see if there are any more openings which could accomodate us? This hole here could be the most recent of a series of holes drilled into the hillside by our invisible friends."

Tiemmo is not interested in sleeping. He is by nature a creature of the night but he sits and watches. To Krikox, he says: "I will keep watch, if you'd like to rest, too. I tend to sleep at times when most people are awake. Perhaps we will be able to make use of that later on."

He thinks then adds. "What does Melisande mean Melias's tomb. Didn't you just tell me he is alive? Must surely be where his tomb is going to be, no?"

Jouko begins to chow down on the porridge he was offered, "oh my god this is so good", he walks over to the to ladies, "thank you so much ladies", he looks at the hole, "Oh my this hole is much smaller then i thought it would be, excuse me ladies" he pushes them aside, he sets down his bowl and pulls a small ball out of his pouch and to rocks, he places the small ball in the hole and strikes the rocks against each other till the long wick on the ball lights, "there we go you to better move" He rushes back to the fire and begins eating more porridge looking expectantly at the small ball.

Linden, Jouko, and Alenee

Jouko

The string burns to the end and nothing happens

OOC - At least in this thread, you have what you have. If it's not listed, you don't have it.

Linden's search of the area reveals no other holes. The worksite is beginning to crawl with workers - the early summer mornings allow them a full workday. As more workers come, they seem to begin to ignore you.

Melisande looks at Tiemmo. "I thought that's what I said. Oh, well as long as we know what we meant. Thanks for taking watch - I'll wake you in a couple hours." She then promply looks around, and sees no real place to sleep. She curls up as best she can and tries to get as comfortable as possible, in a position where her ribs don't hurt that much.

Jouko

As explosives have not yet been discovered, and the public use of magic is severely frowned upon, your search is fruitless, and the workers seem puzzled and look at you very strangely as you search. Some even begin to wonder if you are in your right mind.

OOC - please remember - we're talking about 10th or 11th century european technology here. The basic work unit is the peasant.

OOC: Well man i would blow it open if magic wasn't frowned upon, a small fireball works well.

Searching and remembering what time period he is in he sits back down and continues eating. "Well lets see i could start chopping at the hole with the picks, but im to hungry to work right now." He continues eating.

As Jouko wanders off, Alenee watches him carefully. Once he is safely out of hearing range, she finally responds to Linden's question. "Yes, strange isn't he.... but could someone as odd really be capable of this? I mean, where was the skill to make perfect invisibility when I caught him sneaking around? Nah, he's just a minor fool... probably after our money or something." After a few more minuites of searching, she walks back over. "I'm going after our employer agian. We need maps or something if we're going to have any chance of getting in. And who knows, what we've got here just might be enough to call it finished!"

<edit:>

As she walks by, she hears Jouko talking about opening the hole. "Are you crazy?! We just fought to keep them from opening it. You touch that hole, your head will be a nice pike decoration."
