Melisande
Melisande dies a double take, then remembers that she has the amulet. "Excuse me, sir." She begins in a soft voice. "We are investigating some strange happenings and it seems as though you may have some information on one of our leads." She slowly pulls the amulet from her pouch. "Do you, perchance, recognize this? If you do, could you please tell us its significance?"
Kethruch
Helstar, Melisande, Tiemmo, and KrixoxJune 5, 1048 0736 Bengt looks at the pendant as it is presented to him. A look of shock comes over him for a second, then he composes himself. "I recognize the pendant, or at least the design on it. It is the mark of the builders, of which I am a ranking member of the guild. What exactly does this have to do with the crown? Even more than that, why and how did you think that I could give you information on that?" He says, pointing at the pendant. Linden, Alenee, Jouko, and EruanionJune 5, 1048 0757 As the dust settles, everyone is poised for whatever comes out. The final creaks and groans of the stone statue echo throughout the chamber like the death shrieks of some long-forgotten torture victims. As they die away, nothing happens. Emry
"Well, this is certainly an interesting development." Linden muses to herself. "I bet that Lord Reevelord never expected this in his construction site. Maybe we'll get an additional stipend for checking out the tomb for traps and and removing any unwanted critters...." Peregrine
Alenee retrieves one of the torches and hands it to Jouko. "As you wish." Alenee steps into position behind him so that she can fire past at a threat, but any melee counterattack will have to go through Jouko first. She draws back an arrow, and waits for Jouko to move in. Emry
Linden walks over, holds up her torch, and peers over the edge of the new doorway - trying to shed some light down the hole. She's also looking to see if there are any trip wires or tiny holes in in the stonework (for darts). (Does she stairs, ladder, etc.? And for the trap stuff I realize that she can only see down the first few feet or so...)
Kethruch
Alenee, Linden, Jouko, and EruanionJune 5, 1048 0758 Jouko's shadow spell obviously does not work this time. As you peer down into the hole, there seems to be stone steps - like those of a ladder rather than a stairway - that go down about ten feet and end at a floor that is ornately tiled in a mosaic pattern that is not immediately identifiable. The flickers of light and the shadows hint at more reliefs on the walls. The opening seems to open into a corridor heading to the east.

Emry
"Folks, shall I suggest a marching order before we proceed? Jouko with the first torch, Alenee with her pike, then you Sir Elf (I'm assuming you will be joining us?) and myself bringing up the rear with the second torch. Alenee, I'm not sure how cramped it will be down there, so your pike might be better than the bow." She hefts her mace in her left hand and hold the torch in her right. "Well, let's be about it." Malchik
Tiemmo fidgets. It seems as if the man has something to hide. "The person carrying it attacked us and was unfortunately slain as we defended ourselves. It seems odd that they attacked strangers unless they were doing something nefarious." Tiemmo has not forgotten the paper found inside but is uneasy about mentioning it. He tries to pass on this unease to Melisande and Helstar using his eyes.
