Helstar, Tiemmo, Melisande, and Krixox

June 5, 1048 0806

Helstar grabs her shoulders to begin to pick her up, and Melisande's response gives a brutal answer. Her head lolls back, and blood pours out of her mouth. Nothing short of a spell that could raise the dead would help now. As the light and mist clear, it seems as though she might have had the right idea, however. The room is devoid of creatures, and the only live beings are Helstar, Tiemmo, and Krixox

Eruanion, Linden, and Alenee

OOC - Just waiting for Eruanion - welcome back!

Linden's blow strikes home with a force that should have crushed the Jouko-thing's ribs and sent some of them out the other side. The Jouko - thing seems unbothered by it however, though the force of the blow does knock it to its right a fair distance. Alenee's arrow flies true, and enters the back of the thing's skull, the point coming out directly between the eyes. Linden's blow drives the creature directly in line at Eruanion, whose shot is also well-placed, cutting through the armor and deep into the leg of the thing, hobbling it to the point of it dropping to one leg before it collapses and drops into the fog. After a moment, the fog around the area where the creature fell begins to almost boil, turning blood red in color. The red color continues to spread, and the fog begins to swirl and eddy at an ever increasing rate.

Tiemmo stares at Melisande's corpse in disbelief.

"I can't help much. I've lived rough for years. Is there anywhere where they raise the dead? Or where they reverse time? Or anything?"

He shakes his head.

"If you guys don't have any better ideas, we'd better bury her."

He thinks for a moment

"And perhaps somebody might like to fill me in on just what's been going on."

Looking around quickly, Erunánion looks at the swirling red mist. Taking a few steps back from fallen Jouko, he readies his sword again.

"Well, that was interesting." He gingerly jabs his sword at the patch for red fog. He turns left and right, looking at his two companions. Not completely turning away from the dead body, he speaks. "Are you both okay? I saw you take a cut to your side, Linden. How is it?"

Looking over to Eruanion she nods "I'll be fine. I'll tend to it in a minute. I just want to finish what we began. It all started with the clear crystal. Let's hope it ends with it too."

Murmuring a prayer to Poeved, she swings her mace overhead and sends it crashing down at the skeleton in the sepulcher intending to smash the crystal lying in the center of it's chest.

Alenee, Linden, & Eruanion

As Linden turns to the sepulchre to apply the coup de grace to the skeleton, she is stopped momentarily by the sight of the fog, that is rolling over the side of the destoryed coffin, where it seems to be being absorbed into a now pulsating crystal still in the skeleton's chest. The bones seem to be covering themselves with some sort of material as Linden watches. As she brings her mace down to destroy the ribcage and gem, the mace is caught on the haft by a semi-skeletal arm that shoots up and blocks the blow. The mace is stuck fast, and the creature begins to twist it, apparently attempting to wrench it out of Linden's grasp.

Helstar, Tiemmo, and Krixox

"I don't know the rites around here, either, but I can guarantee you that we don't have enough between us to even attempt to revive her. Does anyone know where she came from? Perhaps we could contact any relatives." Krixox offers as advice. The emptiness of the room seems surreal in the aftermath of the violence that occurred there just a few minutes ago. The bodies of the guards lie in the positions they fell, but still, no sign of the creture or Bengt.

Linden holds onto the mace tighter and starts to twist it back out from the skeletal grip - down over the outer edge of the coffin and using the weak point of the grip (between the thumb and index finger) for leverage. The skeleton/lich-to-be thing would need to pivot to keep the grip or have it's arm break on the edge of the coffin. (OOC - I'm hoping for arm breakage personally)

"You....are....not...going...to...take ...my...mace! It's.... MINE!!" she pants and she struggles with the corpse.

"Does anyone have any blessed water or holy items!" she yells to the party.

Woo Hoo! 200th post! Does a happy dance.... B)

"Damn, I knew I'd need a blunt weapon...." Alenee says quietly as she leans her pike against the wall and readies her longbow. She draws back and takes careful aim, taking advantage of the skeleton's distraction with Linden. She holds her breath in an extra moment, letting her aim drop slowly onto the crystal. As her aim and her target slide into alignment, she releases the arrow. As soon as it is away, she draws another and fires, this time taking just enough time to be sure of a hit anywhere on the skeleton.
