The lead guard shows his raiment more clearly, as if that would be enough to prove to anyone that he was indeed a member of the royal guard. "There, your comrade has identified us. Will you now please follow me?"

There does not seem to be anything else in the room worth taking (unless you had a block and tackle and a large work crew to move the statues).

The other things in the niche seem to come without any trouble. There are:

4 ornately carved jars with covers: 15AE441

1 large, semi-transparent clear stone: AA1856A

1 dagger, seemingly unaffected by age: FF15AE1

The book: AB658CA

The Cloth: 15AA1CA

10 arrowheads, likewise seemingly unaffected by age: C152CCA

"'Tis indeed a wondrous tale, and to tell you the truth, I believe half of it. Mayhaps when my men return, I shall believe the other half. So for now, we wait. Tell me, though; how did you all get together? It seems as though you all joined each other at different times, though I sense a camaraderie among you." He half -listens to your answer, before an aide comes in, and whispers something in his ear. "It seems we might be a few more minutes, please, enjoy some food." There is a tray of pastries that is brought out and placed between you and him. He casually picks one up and begins to eat.

Alenee follows him, her bow in hand with no arrow drawn. Though the new arrivals' intentions seem good, hard experience has taught her not to trust easily. The man's current friendly attitude is no guarantee of their future safety...

Linden looks over to the guard. "My thanks, for your patience, sir." To the others "The constable of Toof is a member of the court. It would probably be a very good idea to tell him about the tomb we found here and the events surrounding our finding it....the invisible attackers and such. It's probably best that we don't keep him waiting."

Back to the guard, "Lead on, sir. I for one, would be glad to quit this place." as she moves to follow him out.

Helstar leans back in his chair.

"You look like an expierienced fighter. You should know, then, that when a group of people go through something like what just happened together, they share a sense of friendship, of brotherhood. Or sisterhood." He says, giving a quick glance at Portia and Krixox

As she follows the guards, Alenee studies the dagger, stone, and arrows that she is carrying. Hopefully her experience will give her a better idea of the weapons' usefulness. They look far too undamaged to her for the time they must have spent in the tomb... anything that could survive that could be very useful to her.

The city streets are full of life now that the sun has risen. You don't remember there being this many people around before. Many of them seems oblivious to you as you go by, but others gawk at you in your bloodstained clothes, some of you nursing wounds.

"The constable is within the castle, it isn't too far, we should be there in a few minutes." The guard says to you as you walk along. He seems to be paying no attention to the streetfolk, but the crowd parts as he approaches, allowing you passage even through the most crowded sections of the city.

Alenee's examination of the knife reveals that it appears to be of good quality, and is exceptionally light for its size. The handle of the dagger is made of some kind of bone, and handling it has wiped away some of the effects of time. There are strange markings on the hilt that look somewhat like the pictographs that were on the parchment, though these are actually reliefs carved exquisitely into the bone. The arrowheads (there were no shafts) seem to be similar to the knife, though they are also of a strange shape, having rounded flanges that flay out at the end to form the back barbs. The stone seems to be nothing more than a large chunk of quartz, although Alenee is no expert with rocks.

"Ah yes, the cameraderie of adventure." He says, licking some sugar from his fingers. "They should be here soon, unless there is more going on at the hills than even you seem to be privy to." His voice trails off in thought, and he seems to be looking far away. "A lizard, you say." He says as he comes back. "Are you sure it was a lizard?" His voice seems to have a slight tone of challenge in it, though not as though he does not believe you.

As they walk along, Erunánion sees the reaction of the people to the constable's passage and duely notes it for future discussion. Noticing Alenee examining the artifacts she has, he opens up the book to look at the markings again, and shows them (if they are not busy) to the others, trying in particular to identify the lizard-skin symbols on the cover and whatever marking are inside.

OOC: Using his amazing elvish agility, since walking along a street and reading a book whilst carrying other stuff is a pretty interesting feat :D /OOC
