Gibbo3771
Anyone have a link to download the latest patch?! I cant find it anywhere :( and would really like the Pipboy mods -_- So I have been told but steam refused to even acknowledged the existence of my game, it wont even let me add it to the list. It was bought out of game, yes steam was installed when the game was....no I dont launch it from steam, I launch it from a shortcut on my desktop. Is there any other way I can get a hold of this stupid patch? I will try reinstalling while I wait for replies.
bben46
The only legal way to get the patch is through steam. If steam does not recognize a legally purchased game, contact steam - and be prepared for a long wait. You MUST install the game only in the proper location for steam to recognize it - That's where steam puts it and where it looks for it to auto download the updates and patches. Yes it is awkward compared to what we are used to. Hopefully steam will change that requirement to allow us to install the game where we want to in the future. I have installed the steam client to the location I install all of my other games. I install games to C:\Games\game name. Partly to avoid windows UAC problems, and partly so all of my games are in one place.Steam is in C:\Games\Steam.And NV is in C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout new vegas Steam has no problems finding it there. However, first you MUST install the steam client there, then install NV

I hate steam with a passion. Anyways DIE thread! :D
frank lee
Funny this should come up, I've just permitted my game to do the update (3 I think) and BANG! Between 3 and 5 fps. . . . . well thank you for that. I guess it rewrote the (heavily modified) default .ini or generally f**ked with something I'd rather it left alone. Well thats what system restore points, backed to a remote location are for. Lan cable unplugged once more!
