pyratudehead
So, I installed a few mods, and the screen totally died. I guess that's what I get for not backing up the data folder, huh? In all seriousness, though, I would like to still be able to play Oblivion, so I'd like some help getting things back up and running. It worked totally 100% fine that day, until I installed these mods: Desu-Chan's Kawa-KajhiitsHGEC (required ^)Robert's Male Body Replacer (required ^)Radar System by VipCxjMenuque (required ^)Curse of Hircine beta 3.5, I believe. The latest, if that helps. And now, each time I start it up, the game runs perfectly fine... but the screen is a solid color. It's almost as though the rooms don't load, and I'm staring at the invisible backdrop of grey or blue or whatever they happened to use for whichever save I load. I'm totally lost, and I'd like some help getting things fixed up. One quick note-- if I were to delete all the folders in the directory, like Data and Lex and stuff, would I be able to reinstall and get a clean slate? Like, just download the mods I used before and avoid some of the too involved installation mods? Just a thought, I didn't want to go and do it before someone confirmed it wouldn't just make things worse. Thanks.

First thing I would try is to find the oblivion.ini near your Save Games under My Documents and delete it. Then start oblivion and see if it regenerates a working one.Look in data\obse\plugins to verify that the Menuque dll is there. If it is not, put it there (create directories if necessary to do so). Try oblivion again if you just added/reinstalled Menuque. If that does not work, I would disable the Radar System mod, and see if that fixes it.If it does not, remove (or rename to something else) the Menuque dll that you put in obse/plugins. See if that fixes it.

pyratudehead
Okay, so your first solution worked like a charm. Thanks, I really appreciate it. There is one minor issue I still have, though. The game is perfectly playable, but ever since incorporating custom races, I can't change their hair or eyes. Would you happen to have a solution for that? I hate to keep piling problems up, but I figured I may as well ask. And it's still playable, so I can live without changing hair or eyes, it'd just be nice to have.

Sorry. :)
pyratudehead
Oh, it's fine. Like I said, the game's perfectly playable, so I'm satisfied with just having the game up and running again.
ziitch
You probably need to have archive invalidation; OBMM or the extended version have tools that does this for you.

When you go into the CS, it just shows the one set of hair and eyes for each race? Do you have Wrye Bash running? If not, consider adding that, and creating a Bashed Patch. That should allow a degree of sharing between your race mods.
