Hey there,

just tried to install the F.O.W.E Mod.

Worked fine, but now the game is fcking lagging. So i wanted to uninstall F.O.W.E, but the textures are like permanent to the game, so can please somebody upload just a normal & "Non-Editited" Data-Folder for FO3?

Would be Awesome!

You don't need to unpack any of the BSAs. Just completely remove everything the mod put in and it will automatically revert to using the vanilla files in the BSAs

Textures and meshes from mods are located inside the textures and meshes folders. Textures and meshes from the vanilla game are located inside the BSA files.

Here is an easy way to revert FO3 to the vanilla (no mods installed) condition. Rename the data folder to something like oldata. create a new data folder in the same place that the original one was. COPY do not mover these files from the oldata folder to the data folder you created

Here is the list of the files in a vanilla data folder.

Music (folder)

Shaders (folder)

Video (folder)

Credits.txt - probably not needed

Fallout-MenuVoices.bsa

Fallout-Meshes.bsa

Fallout-Misc.bsa

Fallout-sound.bsa

Fallout-Textures.bsa

Fallout-Voices.bsa

Fallout3.esm

If it's too difficult for you to just delete the files and folders in your Data folder that came with the mod, then follow the advice that bben46 has provided.

Another way is to extract the contents of the mods archive to an empty temporary folder so that you can compare the folder structure in that one to the folder structure in your Data folder. Or simply open the mods archive and compare the folder structure from the archive.

Things will start getting difficult if you have more mods installed, if that's the case then it may actually be easier to just uninstall and reinstall.

But, however you return the game to it's default installation, before you install any mods make a backup of the contents of your Data folder. Use whichever file archive utility you want, just bear in mind that there's some large files in your Data folder. This way, if you have problems in the future, you can easily and quickly return your game to a default installation.

Here's a slightly more complete list of folders along with number of files contained in each one (bben46 missed the \Menus\Options folder):

\Menus\Options contains 1 file

\Music\Base contains 4 files

\Music\Battle contains 7 files

\Music\Battle\Finale contains 7 files

\Music\Dungeon contains 5 files

\Music\Endgame contains 16 files

\Music\Explore contains 7 files

\Music\Public contains 5 files

\Music\Special contains 4 files

\Music\Tension contains 1 file

\Music\TranquilityLane contains 2 files

\Shaders contains 16 files

\Video contains 32 files

Credits.txt

Fallout-MenuVoices.bsa

Fallout-Meshes.bsa

Fallout-Misc.bsa

Fallout-sound.bsa

Fallout-Textures.bsa

Fallout-Voices.bsa

Fallout3.esm

You should therefore have a total of 115 files in your Data folder and it's sub-folders.
