Can't see any vegetation

As you may or may not know, I've been trying to build a small village... the area I cleared didn't have any trees, but then again neither did anywhere else. I read in a tutorial something about press "i" and this would do something, but I try and nothing different happens.

I need to find a way to see the trees so I an bring them back down and remove the town, it's not working as I wanted so I'm simply going to find a pre-built one and add what I need in there. (any suggestions on a town would help, preferably small and near a town)

I had some buildings added in the cell, but when I checked there with one of my characters all there was were some floating trees  no buildings, cemetary or anything in sight.

Thanks again for helping a complete amateur at this :D The list of helpers gets longer and longer...

From Scratch? Euch, don't suppose I can copy paste stuff

Those damn caverns took a while to make, there's no way to see the trees so I can just move the land back to the way it was before I flattened it?

From the pictures in the tutorial, there must be a way to place stuff in the cell, meaning I should be able to see it right? I still want to add the mod to a town... when I say pre-built, I mean a town that exists already in the game, so I can avoid creating new characters and simply add what I need as the starting point there (mainly a cemetary, a well and a cave entrance) so that the mod has an entrance in the game world. apart from the Lift GBHis scripted for me (still need to find a suitable thing, best so far is a DaedricPedestal) and a few extras it's pretty much complete, though not playtested as I couldn't get the town to work.

P.S Oh yeah, and how exactly do I make a static Object into an activator? Need to make the lift work...

oh, right. You want to keep some parts. Look at the buttons on the top toolbar. One of them enables/disables vegetation.

To put stuff into a cell, all you have to do is literally put it there. If it's not showing up in game. Hmmm. I can't think why. Unless you forgot to save it. Or maybe your landscaping put objects underground. Other than that I'm stumped.

To make a static into an activator, you first need to unpack your Meshes BSA. This is a big archive that holds all the meshes. It's in your data folder. Get BSA commander to do this (google it)

Be sure to unpack them directly into your data directory, not in the meshes subfolder. I made that mistake.

Once that is done, create your activator, and in the mesh section, find the nif file for whatever you want to use. I recommend an ayleid block. And it will appear as such ingame,

From the sound of things, you are having this problem in the CS, but not the game itself?

Open 'My Documents', open 'My Games\Oblivion', open ConstructionSet.ini, and check the following line.

bEnableTrees=?

This should be set to 1.

It's unlikely that this will fix the problem, but as it's a possibility, it's worth a try.

It's at 1, am I right about the icon though?

If I can't fix this, then it looks like it'll be back to step one, unless I can somehow move all the caverns over to a new file.

Hold on.

Have you tried placing new trees?

Have you tried cloning existing trees?

Are you in pathgrid editing mode?

Are you sure you have allowed the cell to load properly?

Do you see trees anywhere?

Try selecting where a tree would be- usually a small shadowed circle. Does anything get selected?

Try starting a new file, and see if trees appear.

If none of those work, post a few screenshots. I'll do my damndest to stop you from losing your work.

I'll try them later, though pathgrid editing mode is something new to me, that may be it. What I have done is load SkingradExterior or something like that, then moved to Wilderness (-9.4) cell, and started texturing there. If pathgrid editing needs to be enabled, then I'm not sure I've done so. To do this I tried following a tutorial, except that the tutorial didn't metion about editing existing areas, only creating a blank cell and making your own.
