Did Steam do this or Bethesda? I want to know exactly what the effigy should look like that I torch in game today.

Bethesda's work Creation Kit Update Live, in the long run I suppose it's better since if they ever do update the thing it won't accidently remove modified scripts.

This should be pinned.

EDIT:

Also, it's worth noting that you'll need to replace your SKSE scripts if you want to use any SKSE functions in scripts. In terms of the game it worked fine for me, but when I came to use SKSE functions in scripting (even AFTER extracting the .rar file) the CK didn't recognise them, I had to replace the SKSE scripts in the my Data/Scripts/ folder with the ones from the archive again.

Found this out courtesy of Arocide again.

Hello.

Thank you in advance for reading my post.

I am wondering about the "Dialogue Views" folder included in the "Scripts.rar" file. Should the "Dialogue Views" folder go into my "Data" folder?

Additionally, where can I find the "SKSE" script replacements that I read about above (in Daedthr's post). I have noted that I would need to replace my SKSE scripts to add functionality for SKSE scripting, but what am I to replace my SKSE scripts with? I can't find any such scripts in the "Scripts.rar" file.

I appreciate your time.

The dialogue views only need to go in if you are planning on editing the vanilla dialogue.

If you reinstall SKSE the scripts will be added to your scripts folder. Or if you have a backup of them just drop them into your data folder. Just make sure they are the correct version.

Thank you Aragorn58.

I am left wondering why in the world this "Update" chose to do this...I suppose it is just another symptom of living in a world that fixes what isn't broken, though there may be a reason(s) that I am not understanding.

Because it seems like they might be planning on more updates and previously if they did that it would override any scripts you modified

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been having this same exact issue.

I extracted the scripts.rar file to scripts/source, but no dice. Do I really need to re-install Skyrim and the CK in order to make scripts?

EDIT: I just reinstalled Skyrim today, which is why I doubt I have to re-install it again for the scripts.

When you open your data/scripts/source file this is what you should see

If you don't you did something wrong.
