Vilja vs Sofia

This would be a wonderful and funny dual to have as followers if the authors of these 2 great mods would work together and make a combo mod (or a patch) to where these 2 will have little chat cat fights with each other. I mean their personalities would lead to some vary funny and entertaining fights. Vilja - seems like a old childhood friend to main character, while Sofia is a girl you find at a stable half naked with a hangover, who seems to not like other females and always badmouths them in one way or another.

Haven't tried Vilja yet, but Sofia was perfect for a start game. She can carry an amazing amount of loot and keeps it separate from her equip inventory - I wish all follower mods (and the vanilla system) were like that. Marrying her is a mistake, she just spends all your coin on drinking, I guess. Another good one is Selene Kate - she says the weirdest things ("Got any sausages?"). And after you marry her, she says "I'm saving myself for someone special - someone who loves me!" Gee, thanks for that!

I ended up ditching all the custom voiced follower mods once I had leveled up enough because they just add more scripting load on an already unstable and apparently poorly coded game. And they like to chat away when I'm trying to hear some important dialogue. When someone figures out how to solve that issue, maybe I'll try one again. Kind of ruins the moment when you are trying to negotiate a truce in the war and Selene blurts out "Got any sausages?". I half expected Ulfric to say "Someone execute that person!"

I've played with Vilja and Sofia together and they're quite chatty in that pairing, just not with one another. I think that Mrissi has some chatter with Vilja. I use Mrissi and Inigo myself. Love the kitties.

I think Vilja and Inigo made mod history with their interoperability. Their combined interactions enhance both mods. It is like playing with two on-line friends, except Vilja and Inigo are much more clever than some on-line friends.

Well said, very well said :D

Out of the two, I prefer Vilja as well. Both are unquestionably impressive. But Vilja had much more content, making her a bit more interesting

Sofia becomes very OP if you give her every spellbook you find. She's probably got the most random observations of any follower.

Vilja would be so much better if her quests were easier to complete. I've played hundreds of hours with her and still never collected her ingredients or got to the marriage proposal. I think the farthest I ever got was beating up her stalker.

If you're trying to make it somewhat lore-friendly, Vilja is far too moral to be a follower for anyone who isn't a saint. At least Sofia has a kind of dirty side.

Haven't tried Sofia, or any other non-vanilla follower except for Vilja, but I continue to be impressed by that mod. (I installed the mod really late into my game and am breezing through her quests - had all the ingredients at home already for that one  ) Really immersive overall (my char recently started performing with her at inns - very cool.), but a couple things really stand out. First, her ability to, well, follow. She has a really subtle teleport function (usually unnoticeable) so you don't leave her behind when rock-hopping or otherwise off-the-beat-pathing-it to locations that would trigger the "prid" and "moveto player" routine if you didn't want to wait for a vanilla follower. And she doesn't seem to get into the "crouching spin of confusion" nearly as often as vanilla followers. Second, the option for her to take the lead. Especially on horseback. My char has followed her from Dragon Bridge to Whiterun, Dawnstar to Solitude, and Rorikstead to Ivarstead so far. There's been a few spots where her AI appeared to get confused, but that's easily fixed by just galloping ahead for a few seconds. That following her on a horse works at all is impressive, that it works very well is really pretty amazing. Also, once I figured it out, her auto-change wardrobe function works perfectly. She can get pretty powerful, but that's easily addressed by giving her weak weapons. (Which my char, in good conscious, can't bring herself to do )

If she does get too powerful there's a lot of good mods to give her the proverbial smackdown.

Requiem

Revenge of the Enemies

Dragon Combat Overhaul

Draugr Shout Fix

And if you really want to wet yourself

Sands of Time

Too overpowered? Must have something against strong Nord women!

I have Vilja, Sofia, Inigo and Interesting NPCs installed. They are all good, but my five favorites are:

1. Vilja

2. Inigo

3. Zora Fair-Child

4. Rumarin

5. Anum-La

Sofia is a good character and if I was back in my pre-teen and teenage years, I am sure I would be delighted with Sofia's constant sexual innuendos.

As it stands, my favorite things about Sofia are her New York accent and comedy timing.

All of them are many degrees of magnitude better than the vanilla characters.
