Deleted1217574User
Which mod(s) is/are it that you're trying? That kind of crash sounds like you're missing a .esm file, so be sure you didn't miss any previous requirements on any of your mods.

Balakirev
That doesn't sound right. If you've properly installed an armor mod that you previously uninstalled, all you did was put in place some textures, meshes, and an ESP file. However, if you accidentally removed some textures or meshes that were related to some other mod, that could cause you problems. How many mods have you got going in your game? Have you tried the 50% rule? -Remove 50% of them from your mod loading screen, then see if it runs. If the game does, put back 50% of those. If it doesn't, uncheck 50% of what's left. (i couldn't even use shivering isles!) i love my mods, so im not just going to play without them. there must be another way?
Fonger
but only when i only had my oblivion master file selected... if the oblivion master file isn't selected the game is guaranteed to crash
lonewolf789
if i have anything other than just the master file (one of my mods or shivering isles) it crashes. its pretty obvious that if im not using oblivion data it wont work, but thanks anyway. bben46
This will allow you to completely remove all mods and run as a vanilla game again. You will not lose anything and can change it back if you want. Bben's Oblivion Revert to Vanilla gamehttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=340 Once you have a vanilla game working, you can determine which mod is causing the problem. Once you have installed Shivering Isles it is always a part of your game and cannot be removed without a full reinstall. Note that the Shivering Isles esp is not a working esp. It is just a place holder to let the game know you want to play with SI active. All of the SI content is actually in the Oblivion.exe and Oblivion.esm that will not be removed by this. So be sure to use the SI version.
lonewolf789
im actully trying your reinstalling procedure to see if it is something with my data. if that doesnt get my oblivion working, i wil use that. thanks for all your guides, they really helped me go from the 'noob' level of knowledge, to where i can do everything blindfolded (figure of speech)! you rock! Edited December 4, 2010 by lonewolf789
