Hi ok ive been working on this for the last 6 days and plan on spending a lot of time on it and making it fairly of not hugely big. Heres what ive got so far

New large building with basement, groundfloor, 2nd floor, 2 hidden rooms, 3 bedrooms, guards bedroom, and possibly *going to contact the authors soon as ive posted this* an arcade room/games room featureing snail racing and black jack and some other new games

New Faction/Guild!

9 New NPC's!

2 Custom Scripts!

4 New Enchantments!

Adds 27 New Weapons!

Adds 1 New Armour!

Adds 112 New Books!!!

Adds 1 New Spells!

ive spent most of the last few days getting the building work done, its in the IC arcane district, its going to be kind of a quest house, im gathering all the different texture resourses people have made but made no quests for or have just put on the floor by the statue in the market district and adding some of them to the merchant in this building, others are going to be a part of the guild quests that im making (i aim to make at least 40 new quests some big some small, some action some logical and searching) and theres a library which im making lots of custom books for some of which will start new quests,

I aim with or without any help to get this to add

40 new npc's

alot of new scripts

alot of new enchantments and spells

at least 100 new weapons and 100 new sets of armour

200 new books

new items

and as many new quests as i can

by the time ive finished but if i can get some help of any1 ill be able to really make this a massie mod with loads of extras.

If any1 wants to help with this mod email me asap, even if its just to sugest a name for a weapon and its stats its apreciated the more the better.

Regards, dave

You've been working for 6 days and you've got all these plans. But what do you have to show for it. This is quite clearly a housemod. I've been working on this for 3 months.

I have a finished product, that is still improving. You have nothing but a bunch of ideas and a couple of cells.

I toiled for a month and put out a first release before I got any help. And you want 'all modder's and texture makers' after 6 days

I need a texture artist, as mine is MIA. these people are in short supply and high demand. Why should one help you over me?

112 books? There's no way you've written 112 books in 6 days.

40 NPCs? I have 40 npc's. It took me a month.

On the first page of my thread, I've clearly laid out my objectives, and prioritised them with an appropriate timescale. You seem to have just thrown everything in.

A lot of new scripts? Scripts aren't something you just add. They fulfil a purpose

100 new weapons and sets of armor? That is just ludicrous. Likewise the 200 new books. There aren't even 100 books in the whole game right now.

Unless you are a total master of all aspects of programming with an infinite amount of free time, or you get a hell of a lot of people to sacrifice theirs, I severely doubt this project.

And finally, you haven't even said what you actually want help with. What are your capabilities?

Sorry for the rant. Maybe I just dislike competition. But there are plenty of housemods out there already. You need to do something exceptional if you don't want to be ignored

I think I've said enough. You should visit this thread. I'm not just being nasty. We see hundreds of these super scale projects undertaken with little skill or perspective. And 99% of the time they fail. Many are surprised I got as far as I did.

Something like this requires total and exclusive commitment. I work whole nights without sleep (what I'm doing now actually).

Think long and hard about this, and ask yourself if you're really ready for such a huge undertaking.

"Why should one help you over me?" i never once said help me over any1 so come down from your high horse, i know exactly how much time and effort this is going to take no way icould of written that many books!! if you look round theres loads of item mods that add new books but the modder didnt place them anywere special in the game they've all been imported but even so whio the hell are you to asume i havent written that many books , yeah i do know what scripts are for duh! and since when is a mod that adds a new guild with aims to add a lot of quests and dungeons/puzles a house mod? i think ill make a new spell and call it a horse mod if thats the case.. "Likewise the 200 new books. There aren't even 100 books in the whole game right now." yeah and there never wil be more then 100 unles modders like me add more.

i joined this forum on the advice of a friend whos working on extended script functions to include on this project i can see it was a crap idea now to join here not like its suposed to be a comunity is it.....

It doesn't matter whether you say it or not. The limited availability of talent means that such people always have a ton of work, and they cannot do everything.

You didn't say that before. I drew a conclusion on the available facts. The thread I linked you to extolls the virtues of properly explaining things.Did you get permission from all these authors?

but even so whio the hell are you to asume i havent written that many books
You said you had only been working for 6 days. You'd have to be an intelligent computer to write that fast, Besides your poor grammar generally identifies you as one who is not so gifted with words

yeah i do know what scripts are for duh

I was merely referring to your including scripts in the list of features where it clearly does not belong. Organisation is key to any huge project

and since when is a mod that adds a new guild with aims to add a lot of quests and dungeons/puzles a house mod?
"New large building with basement","3 bedrooms","It's going to be kind of a quest house". All quoted from your post. Also, housemod does not necessarily refer to a house so much as a building that caters to the player.

i think ill make a new spell and call it a horse mod if thats the case..

What is this supposed to mean?

"Likewise the 200 new books. There aren't even 100 books in the whole game right now." yeah and there never wil be more then 100 unles modders like me add more.
Of course. I was simply using the frankly huge number as an indicator of your overambition

I was a bit nasty, but as I said before I have a little problem with competition. I humbly apologise for my tone. This is the fourth time in a month I've had to apologise for being an turkey. But regardless of how spitefully worded, I am trying to help. You must understand my frustration at yet another highly ambitious project asking for help.

Now can you answer my questions.

How skilled are you at modding?

Did you read the thread I linked you to?

Did you even glance at my mod?

Are you sure you can commit to this?

Also, given the size of this, I would recommend putting it in the wilderness somewhere rather than near the arcane university. Apart from being more unusual, and therefore more distinctive, it gives you the space to do something really creative with the exterior like I did. It will also reduce the chances of conflict with the thousands of other mods that alter the imperial city

Finally, please try to space your posts out a little better for readibility, or less people will want to read them.

"How skilled are you at modding?"

Couldnt say its opinion but past mods include some for half life, farcry, need for speed, a ton of scripting for various engines including rm2k, rm2k3, microsoft windows unatended install, 2 years doin a btec in pc engineering.

Did you read the thread I linked you to?

yes but as i was planingon coming back and editing my 1st post once i had some coffea and and wasnt so googley eyed my 1stpost was fine for just letting people know im working on a mod

Did you even glance at my mod?

yeah yesterday or last night not to sre i was going to give it a try, been to busy on this mod tho.

Are you sure you can commit to this?

Positive, can spend every waking moment and thru the night like ive being doin on this since im currently taking time out from my music course

"A hundred suits of armor?

Whoa.

Are we talking retextures?" hey, some are retxtures and alot are new textures and meshes.

If you are using other people's textures and meshes do not forget to give them credit.

Additionally I would suggest starting smaller and working up. Add 1 or 2 new weapons and 1 or 2 sets of armor. Maybe skim down the number of NPCs. Huge mods can be great and all, but being able to release something and update/upgrade is usually the best way to go. Plus the bigger you make a mod the more likely it will conflict with other mods. I don't know about everyone else, but having to turn off more then half the mods that make my game play the way I like doesn't sound very good. Wish you luck though.

Before including someone else's books in your mod, I suggest you ask permission first. Most of the times they won't mind, but you should still ask. And of course give credit to them when the mod is released.

Same goes for new textures.

Yeah this goes without saying, ive already got permission and been sending out emails allover the place getting permission from different people a full Credits txt file containg every1 whos work is involved and what it is that they made thats in this mod is going to be in the release.
